Shure unveiled its new KSM line of studio condenser microphones: the KSM32C, KSM40C, and KSM44MP — at the NAMM Show 2026. The KSM series delivers true-to-life fidelity in a purpose-built format designed for musicians and professionals.

KSM32C — Small capsule, maximum sound

The KSM32C is a large-diaphragm condenser microphone that delivers a smooth, balanced response and exceptional low-frequency performance. It is ideal for vocals, instruments, drums and ensemble work, and is available in both stage and studio packages.

The KSM40C is a versatile large-diaphragm condenser microphone that delivers natural, detailed audio with enhanced proximity effect and a natural high-frequency boost. It is ideal for capturing rich nuances in vocals and instruments, including double basses, guitar amplifiers and kick drums.

KSM44MP — Stunning realism, exceptional versatility

The KSM44MP offers unmatched versatility in a sleek dual-diaphragm design that maximises sensitivity and stabilises polar pattern consistency, improving low-frequency off-axis control. A multi-pattern microphone with natural clarity and smooth, airy detail, it is ideal for vocals, pianos, stereo techniques, distant miking and ensembles.

The new KSM microphones look sleek and have an excellent, understated appearance, which is always a good aesthetic in the studio (and live). One of the most striking features is their incredibly low self-noise — so low, in fact, that while recording a very soft vocal, I had to double-check to confirm the microphone was active.
