The British manufacturer has released a limited edition of the Novation MiniNova synthesizer bearing the signature of legendary producer Giorgio Moroder. Throughout his career of more than 50 years, Giorgio Moroder has been a leading figure in the world of electronic music. Without his pioneering work in the mid-'70s with Donna Summer, among other artists, disco music would never have sounded the way we know it.
In the '80s, his fiercely modern approach to producing soundtracks for films such as Scarface, Top Gun and Flashdance (always using the synthesizer as the main instrument) captivated an entire generation of moviegoers. More recently, Moroder has returned to the spotlight thanks to his universally praised 2013 collaboration with Daft Punk, and his 2015 album Déjà Vu, which features Britney Spears, Kylie Minogue and Sia as guest artists.
Moroder's fascination with electronic sounds is what led to his collaboration with Novation. The creator of some of the most recognizable synth sounds across a range of musical genres, Giorgio Moroder is a true deity in the world of synthesizers. The Novation-Moroder collaboration came about when Giorgio fell in love with the MiniNova and took it on tour around the world. With the MoroderNova, Novation and Giorgio Moroder have written a page in synthesizer history. Not only is it Novation's first signature model, it is also the first and only synthesizer to bear Giorgio Moroder's name. What's more, there are only five hundred units, all numbered and supplied with a certificate of authenticity.

A collector's item
Born to be a collector's item, the MoroderNova is a very special synthesizer conceived as a tribute to Giorgio Moroder, an artist who not only fascinated an entire generation of music lovers but also defined the sound of pop and disco music, paving the way for electronic innovation in popular music.
His influence is still very much alive today thanks to his collaborations with artists such as Daft Punk, and new work such as the album Déjà Vu, released this very year. Customized with Giorgio's unmistakable trademark (his mustache and glasses) and with a striking silver/black color scheme, the MoroderNova is a true collector's item.
The MoroderNova's sounds are associated with some of Giorgio's most memorable musical moments. From the tones of his disco classics with artists such as Sparks and Donna Summer, to the incredible sounds of the Top Gun and Scarface soundtracks, or his recent work with Daft Punk, Novation's sound designers have managed to capture every last detail of Moroder's sonic personality. With these sounds you can draw inspiration from the work of one of the most influential producers in the history of pop music. The MoroderNova will be available in Spain during the second half of June, with a suggested retail price of 458 euros (VAT included).
