The new Variax Standard represents, as a finished product, the first technological collaboration between Yamaha and Line 6, a guitar built with the know-how of the Japanese brand but incorporating the acclaimed Variax technology. The fusion of Yamaha and Line 6.
It recreates the response of all kinds of instruments (prestigious vintage guitar models, 12-string guitars, acoustics, sitar, banjo, resonator...) and gives instant access to all kinds of useful tunings (standard, Drop D, open tunings, DADGAD, or even custom ones).
Thanks to the VDI connection (Variax Digital Interface), the guitar can be powered by, and communicate with, certain Line 6 devices. However, since it has conventional magnetic pickups and a jack output, it can work passively and traditionally, like a completely normal guitar. From the Workbench software (included), you can imagine the impossible and become a virtual guitar builder, then import the sound design into our Variax: choose among several body types, pickups and configurations and create your own custom guitar designs. The Variax Standard will be available in three finishes: Vintage White, Tobacco Brown Sunburst and Black.
