SOUND VESTDeveloped by physicist Shahriar Afshar and ultimately funded through the Kickstarter platform, this new device, which lets us feel sound itself on our bodies, is generating a lot of buzz.

KOR-FX is the name of this incredible virtual reality tool.

But... do you really know how KOR-FX works?

Who would have told us a few years ago that sensations not perceptible through touch could have a physical effect on our bodies?

The truth is that science is advancing by leaps and bounds, and proof of this is this device, which has arrived to revolutionize many fields, music among them.

Using a technology called 4DFX, built into the vest itself, sound received from the speakers connected to the audio output of whatever device we're using is transformed into a physical response through its various panels and layers, letting the KOR-FX user feel on their own skin the atmospheres we normally recreate in our minds when listening to a song.

So the main function of this project is to translate the audio signals from games and songs into vibrations and movements.

This is possible thanks to a 3.5 mm mini-jack plug (compatible with practically any device on the market today).

Its creator has gone all in: not only has he put a new spin on sound without resembling other vibrating-motor systems, but he has also set out to be the only one using "haptic panels," similar to those used in touch devices.

As for the functionality of this innovation, we'd add that its intensity is adjustable according to the user's sensitivity and how eager they are to
immerse themselves in the "musical space."

As for how to get one of these impressive gems, the first lucky ones were those who donated $135 to help the project; they will receive a KOR-FX vest next September.
