German manufacturer Steinberg has launched Padshop, a two-layer granular synthesizer (with one oscillator in each) whose layers can be edited and processed independently of each other.

Steinberg's head of marketing stated that "above all, Padshop offers ultra-fresh virtual granular synthesis, making sound manipulation accessible to everyone. In addition, thanks to its effective use, extended control range and incredible sonic scope, Padshop is one of the best granular synthesizers on the market."

Steinberg Padshop also includes 400 factory presets and a collection of samples called SoftGrain Wave ROM that can be loaded into the oscillators to get new and different sounds.

What are Padshop's standout features? It offers a granular synthesizer with two independent oscillators, 12 filter types, a step modulator, two LFOs and two envelope controls, more than 400 presets and a SoftGrain Wave ROM, Mono/Poly modes with legato and glide and, finally, it requires an eLicenser key.
