In 2013, Shure introduced a new digital wireless guitar pedal solution, specially designed for guitarists and bassists. The system consists of a bodypack transmitter, a premium guitar cable and a pedal receiver, delivering flawless digital audio quality and perfect performance.
The single-channel BETA guitar receiver features a rugged, compact and durable metal chassis. It has a convenient LED display for status checks and battery metering. It offers true Diversity reception and can be powered from other pedalboards. A built-in chromatic tuner provides both strobe and needle tuning displays and can be used live or muted.
Operating in the 2.4 GHz frequency band, the Shure guitar pedal receiver allows up to eight compatible systems to operate and offers the enhanced performance of LINKFREQ (Automatic Frequency Management).
LINKFREQ scans the RF spectrum, determines the best available frequencies and deploys them automatically. In the event of interference, it moves to clean frequencies without any interruption to the signal.
While the BETA receiver is powered from the pedalboard or an external power supply, the transmitter accepts Shure rechargeable lithium-ion batteries. The high-quality guitar cable (WA305) is also included with the system.
"The BETA pedal receiver is Shure's first foray into designing a wireless receiver exclusively for guitarists, bassists and other performers who use effects pedals and foot controls," says Stephan Scherthan, Senior
Product Manager at Shure Europe. "Being a guitarist myself, I really appreciate one of the most important tools you can find mounted on a pedalboard: a sophisticated chromatic tuner."
