Euroconcerts Audio Control Chooses DPA Microphones for Its Productions

Euroconcerts Audio Control has been turning to DPA for more than 25 years to support its large and varied range of music productions.

Some of the company's best-known microphones are the DPA 4015 Wide Cardioid, 2011 Twin Diaphragm Cardioid, 4023 Compact Cardioid, 4037 Compact Omnidirectional, 4099 Instrument Microphone, 4061 Miniature Omnidirectional and the d:facto 4018V Vocal Microphones.

One of the company's latest investments came in 2011 with the acquisition of the Twin Diaphragm Cardioid for a classical music production for Dutch National TV. "Years ago, we used to work on recordings with a mounted stereo microphone," explains Euroconcerts founder Johan van Loo.

"However, this year, with the pandemic restrictions, we had to switch our miking system to a closer one, and we found the perfect solution in the 2011. Not only does it sound great, it's also extremely discreet."

Van Loo, a longtime DPA user, began working with the brand when it was still part of Brüel & Kjær. "Ever since I started working with DPA's small-diaphragm microphones, they have become my favorite choice. I especially like them for their sound quality and because they provide more and better gain before feedback. For vocal reproduction I've also become a fan of the d:facto 4018V."

Speaking about other features of the microphones, van Loo says that "DPA microphones really make EQ easier, thanks to their exceptional sound quality. In live recordings, everyone knows the element of surprise is always there, but these microphones really do everything possible to deliver great results, whatever the circumstances."
