Continuing its advance into the growing effects plug-in market, Heritage Audio announces the availability of HA 240 Gold Foil Verb: a plug-in meticulously modeled and (almost entirely) named after an original large-format hardware unit (serial no. 0183).
This unit was heavily used by the company’s CEO, Peter Rodríguez, at the start of his career as a recording engineer and, after spending years stored in the vintage-inspired recording equipment developer’s factory, comes to new life as a unique plug-in as of May 5.
What was thought to be unusable after so many years in storage—and destined to be torn apart for spare parts—proved otherwise when one of Heritage Audio’s talented engineers opened this hefty plate reverb for testing and discovered it worked perfectly. Time, as sometimes happens with vintage gear, had improved its performance.
The company could not resist capturing the magnificent sound and character of this one-of-a-kind studio classic and turning it into a fun and inspiring tool for everyone.
The result is HA 240 Gold Foil Verb, a native plug-in whose controls, easy to understand, resemble those of the original unit, enhanced with very useful extra features:
- - INPUT (–10 dB to +10 dB)
- - OUTPUT (–10 dB to +10 dB)
- - FILTER (manages low frequencies with cuts of 0, –4, –12 or –24 dB at 100 Hz)
- - LOW FREQ (–12 dB to +12 dB at 150 Hz)
- - HIGH FREQ (–12 dB to +12 dB at 5 kHz)
- - DRY/WET (mixes the original signal with the processed one)
- - SPREAD (stereo width of the reverb)
- - PRE DELAY (0 ms to 250 ms before the reverb kicks in)
- - REVERB TIME (reverb duration)
In short, the HA 240 Gold Foil Verb enhances any track—guitars, strings, synthesizers or vocals—by enveloping it in a warm and immersive reverberation, rich in lows, that makes it stand out in the mix.

Heritage Audio’s goal with HA 240 Gold Foil Verb—as with all its recent plug-ins—is to channel creativity and bring the focus back to the music in music production. To reach as many users as possible, it applies a broad and fair pricing policy: the native plug-in is free for owners of any interface in the i73® PRO family (the first USB-C audio interfaces with built-in Class A 73-style preamps), who will see it automatically added to their plug-in collection. Owners of other Heritage Audio plug-ins enjoy a loyalty price of 50 €/50 US$, while for everyone else a straightforward price of 99 €/99 US$ is set.
The native version of HA 240 Gold Foil Verb can be purchased—in 64-bit AAX, AU and VST3 formats for macOS 10.15.7 or higher (native compatibility with Intel and Apple Silicon M1/M2/M3/M4) and Windows 10/11—directly through Heritage Audio.
An iLok account is required for activation. (In trial mode, the plug-in is fully functional for 14 days after activation.)
