The new Celestion Ruby IR, along with the full collection of other authentic Celestion guitar speaker tones, is available to audition and download at CelestionPlus.
The Celestion Ruby is an Alnico-magnet guitar speaker designed specifically to create vintage tones. The Celestion Alnico vibe is created, in part, by its damping; the Ruby oozes musical vintage warmth, with smooth highs and a soft, sophisticated midrange. Now, the Celestion Ruby guitar speaker has been captured as an Impulse Response and is available to download as a perfect digital representation.
The new Celestion Ruby Impulse Responses were meticulously recorded by Celestion's engineers in a world-class recording facility using three classic professional microphones: a Shure SM57, a Royer ribbon mic and a Sennheiser MD421. Each of these three microphones was in turn recorded in six unique positions (including a rear mic for open-back enclosures) and labeled within the IR files as Balanced, Bright, Fat, Thin, Dark and Dark 2.
In addition to the three studio microphones included in this IR pack, a Neumann TLM107 room mic was also used to give the user a wide range of tonal options.
The Celestion Ruby guitar speaker IR collection is available to download individually in five different cabinet configurations, including:

All Celestion Ruby IRs can be purchased individually or as a bundle for a discount of almost 50%, as well as part of a Pick & Mix selection. The Pick & Mix option lets customers select combinations of 3 or 5 enclosures from the company's full range of original IRs, offering flexibility in building a personal IR library with significant savings compared with buying individual IRs.
As with all Celestion Impulse Responses, the new Ruby IRs are downloaded in .WAV format for compatibility with most DAWs, IR plug-ins and amp modeling software.
