New Celestion guitar speaker tones with an American accent join the acclaimed IR family, available as digital downloads.
Celestion has announced the bold new A-Type addition to its celebrated family of downloadable digital Impulse Responses. It represents an unusual kind of guitar speaker, because it delivers classic British Celestion tone with a bit of an American accent. The new A-Type responses, along with the other nine classic speaker IR sets introduced earlier this year, are available to audition and download at Celestion Plus.
True to the Celestion spirit, but with new answers for sparkling highs and relaxed mids
The Celestion A-Type is a different kind of guitar speaker waiting to be discovered. It remains true to the Celestion spirit, but boasts a big finish that resolves relaxed midrange tones and sparkling, chiming highs. Thoroughly musical and three-dimensional in sound, the A-Type has a more relaxed midrange than other speakers in the range, revealing body and complexity across the entire frequency spectrum. Guitarists looking for clean tones will enjoy the smooth articulation it brings, while rock fans will revel in the more thunderous lows. On the other hand, the A-Type's tone isn't what most people expect from a Celestion speaker; it has become a hidden gem for some and has attracted its own group of devoted fans. By making the A-Type available as Impulse Responses, Celestion offers its valued customers easy digital access and the chance to explore unique guitar tones.
Five individual varieties of IRs of the new Celestion A-Type speaker are available for download, corresponding to each of the 5 cabinet types, including:

And for each of these cabinets, three high-quality professional microphones were used, each placed in six discrete positions, resulting in 18 Impulse Responses per cabinet. In addition, Celestion has included eight more Impulse Responses for each cabinet, created by blending several unique IRs, which offer additional tonal variety.
