Difficult times call for extraordinary measures. For some artists, like DJ EZ, surprising people and working hard so everyone can enjoy themselves is nothing new. The DJ is a big fan of marathon sets, so what better way to make quarantine more bearable than to play one.
DJ EZ decided to team up with the My Kind Deed website to cheer up all viewers and users during their lockdown and social isolation due to COVID-19. From 18:00 GMT on Saturday, March 28, to 18:00 GMT on Sunday the 29th, DJ EZ streamed a 24-hour session through Boiler Room TV. It's a great example of the good initiatives that can be taken to spread calm, well-being and positivity.
Moreover, this isn't the first time the DJ has given himself fully to his community. Four years ago, DJ EZ raised 60,000 pounds sterling (approx. 68,000 euros) for the Cancer Research UK foundation. To do so, he streamed a 24-hour show, proving what he's made of. This time the initiative is quite similar, although obviously there was no audience in the studio, and everyone who tuned in enjoyed the session from their homes.
Pioneer Pro Audio supplied an XPRS system for the set, made up of two XPRS12 speakers and a pair of XPRS115S subwoofers. DJ EZ had worked with the brand before, specifically with the XY series for his latest Boiler Room set.
Mark Grotefeld, general manager of Pioneer Pro Audio, commented:
"It was a great initiative by DJ EZ to fill us with positivity and good vibes. Music has proven to be a great force for bringing people together in times of crisis. We're honored to have been able to work with him on an experience like this because, if it's already hard enough to keep up with DJ EZ, we know XPRS has no problem doing so."
