The new TransAcoustic guitar series brings this technology (known from Yamaha pianos) to guitarists, creating a new concept in acoustic instruments. These guitars feature built-in effects (Reverb, Chorus) with no need for cables or external devices, because the signal comes directly out of the body of the guitar.
How Does It Work?
An actuator mounted on the inner surface of the guitar's back vibrates in response to the vibrations of the strings. The actuator's vibrations are in turn transmitted to the guitar's body and to the air inside and around it, generating authentic Reverb and Chorus sounds from within the body.

Instrument Design
The body is that of a solid-wood guitar based on L16 models. The modified non-scalloped bracing design preserves the bright tone so characteristic of the L Series while improving bass response. Treating the tops with Yamaha's exclusive A.R.E. process gives the instrument a high-quality, rich vintage tone, making it sound from day one as if it had been played for years. The fact that this guitar was designed with sound quality as the starting point is what made it possible to achieve such pure, natural effects.
A straighter neck profile and hand-rolled fretboard edges result in an instrument that lets you play for hours with no effort at all. The neck on every TransAcoustic guitar is built from 5 plies of rosewood and mahogany with a dual-action truss rod, which translates into great stability and resistance to warping.
The newly designed battery compartment is integrated into the jack connector assembly, avoiding additional holes in the body and, as a result, reducing loss of acoustic sound. All you have to do is plug the jack cable into a PA system or an amplifier to use the guitar as an acoustic-electric (volume and effects are adjustable).
