Pioneer DJ's flagship setup is taking a giant leap into the future with the new CDJ-2000NXS2 and DJM-900NXS2. The result of years of interaction with DJs of every genre, these latest additions deliver the best possible sound quality, more finely tuned features, and unprecedented levels of control.
Pioneer DJ has equipped the CDJ-2000NXS2 with a 96 kHz / 24-bit sound card and added support for lossless audio files, Apple Lossless (ALAC) / FLAC, paving the way for more producers to create music in this high-quality format.
Navigation and track selection are even more intuitive thanks to the high-resolution touchscreen, the QWERTY keyboard, and the “Track” search filter. The screen also offers a multicolor waveform display, more detailed rekordbox™ information, and instant access to all the most popular features.
The player now has two banks of four Hot Cues, eight in total. And if that isn't enough, you can connect the DDJ-SP1 controller to add Hot Cues and loops and control up to four players from one device using Pro DJ Link.
For its part, the DJM-900NXS2 takes mixing to another level with its new 64-bit processor, delivering a more natural, warmer sound full of nuance. The controls are even more responsive, with a new gain structure and improved EQ and fader cut curves.
The Sound Color FX section now has a parameter
knob, for even more detailed manipulation. There's also an independent Send/Return, which means you no longer have to choose between Beat FX and external FX: you can connect external FX controllers,
including iPad apps, and manage them as layers on top of the built-in FX.
It also includes four phono inputs, DVS support, and two USB ports for easy connection to a PC / Mac. The DJM-900NXS2 mixer is a crucial tool for any professional booth.
“I played a couple of tracks through the DJM-900NXS2 and was pretty amazed; it sounds like no other Pioneer DJ mixer I've worked with,” said Andy Kayll, sound engineer at DC10. “Going from 32-bit to 64-bit, the sound is much more precise and natural, and you can tell it's much warmer.”
The CDJ-2000NXS2 and DJM-900NXS2 will be available from February 2016, with a suggested retail price of 2.299 € each, VAT included.
