SD9 DIGICODiGiCo has developed a new digital processing console: the SD9.

It is a very useful tool for music development in studios; it features a highly flexible integrated system powered by Super FPGA technology digital processing.

This console is the result of many developments and ideas from DiGiCo; it is also designed to be a key piece of kit for touring acts and for fixed installations (theaters, conference centers, studios...) thanks to its small size, without sacrificing exceptional performance, at a very competitive price.

The SD9 has 24 motorized, touch-sensitive faders, as well as quick-access function buttons with electronic labeling for the fastest response times.

At the center of the SD9 sits a high-resolution 15-inch backlit TFT LCD touchscreen.

Continuing with the more technical specifications, the SD9 stands out for its 48 Flexi channels (configurable as mono or stereo) at 48 kHz/96 kHz, which is the equivalent of 96 channels of full DSP processing.

It also has a standard channel processing system that includes Channel Delay, Individual and Multi-Channel Presets, dual insert points, Hi-Lo filters with 24 dB/octave slopes, a four-band parametric EQ with band curve selection, dual insert points, and DiGiCo’s DYN 1 (compressor, de-esser, or assignable multichannel compressor) and DYN 2 (gate, compressor, or ducker).

It also has eight Dynamic EQ processors that can be assigned to any input or output channel and offer dynamic processing on each of the four standard parametric bands, and there are also eight assignable multiband compressors and eight DiGiTubes.

The master section includes 16 gangable 32-band graphic EQs, eight stereo effects (selectable from a palette of 33), and eight control groups in AVC format.

The SD9 has a vast local I/O section including eight mic inputs, eight line outputs, four mono AES/EBU, one MADI port, and two dedicated D-Rack ports.

The D-Rack is a 32-input, eight-output remote I/O rack, which comes standard with the SD9 with the option to expand to 16 outputs if we need them.

But that’s not all: users can also connect a second D-Rack (as with the combination rack package), providing a total of 72 mic inputs.

There is also an optional DiGiCo SoundGrid module that can be attached to both engines for full redundancy if linked to two external PC servers such as SoundGrids or DiGiGrids, giving the user instant access to 32 low-latency, fully integrated stereo Waves MultiRacks, each able to host up to eight plug-ins per rack. That’s 128 I/O.

With all this, the SD9 is one of the best options on the market for music production.
