New CHARVEL® Desolation™ Guitars

Charvel introduces its new Desolation series of guitars. Set apart by devastating tone, impeccable looks and high-performance playability, the Desolation series is made up of all-new Charvel models, with more tonal and style options.



There are ten new guitars in the first batch of the Charvel Desolation series. All feature mahogany bodies and necks, a dual-pickup configuration with a three-way selector, transparent and solid finishes (with flame maple tops on the transparent finishes) and black nickel hardware. Most have compound-radius (12"-16") rosewood fingerboards with 24 jumbo frets on bolt-on, set or neck-through-body necks; bridges specially designed for compound radii (except the DS-3 ST, which is equipped with a Floyd Rose®); and a 3+3 headstock with built-in locking tuners (except the DS-3 ST and the Floyd Rose®-equipped models, which are 3+3 non-locking).

• DS-1ST: Arched top, neck-through-body, bound neck with sculpted heel, abalone fingerboard inlays, abalone body and headstock binding, Seymour Duncan® Blackout active humbuckers, headstock color-matched to the body.



• DS-1 FR: Arched top, neck-through-body, bound neck with sculpted heel, abalone fingerboard inlays, abalone body and headstock binding, Seymour Duncan® Blackout active humbuckers, double-locking Floyd Rose® bridge, headstock color-matched to the body.



• DS-2 ST: Arched top, set neck with sculpted heel, pearloid fingerboard inlays, pearloid body and headstock binding, Charvel active humbuckers.



• DS-3 ST: Arched top, bolt-on neck, 12" radius fingerboard with dot inlays, passive humbuckers.

• SK-1 ST: Solid body based on the hollow body of the early-'90s Surfcaster, bound neck-through-body, abalone keystone fingerboard inlays, abalone body and headstock binding, EMG® 85 (neck) and 81 (bridge) active humbuckers, single knob (volume), headstock color-matched to the body.



• SK-1 FR : Solid body based on the hollow body of the early-'90s Surfcaster, bound neck-through-body, abalone keystone fingerboard inlays, abalone body and headstock binding, EMG® 85 (neck) and 81 (bridge) active humbuckers, single knob (volume), double-locking Floyd Rose® bridge, headstock color-matched to the body.



• SK-3 ST : Solid body based on the hollow body of the Surfcaster, bolt-on neck, pearloid keystone fingerboard inlays, pearloid body and headstock binding, Charvel passive humbuckers, single knob (volume).
