Genelec, a leader in monitoring technology for four decades, is proud to present the Genelec 1032C, one of the world's most popular two-way monitors, now updated with the cutting-edge features and flexibility of Smart Active Monitoring (SAM®)
Delivering the wide dynamic range, pristine imaging and on/off-axis response for which the Genelec 1000 Series is renowned, the 1032C adds the most advanced auto-calibration and monitor networking software, along with significant improvements including a digital input, higher SPL and extended low-frequency response.
Launched in 1992, the 1032A was immediately hailed as a milestone in the Genelec 1000 Series line, offering more audio power, a larger 10" woofer and greater directivity than the iconic 1031.
It adds the most advanced auto-calibration and monitor networking software, plus a digital input, higher SPL and extended low-frequency response
Now the 1032C merges a suite of contemporary technologies with the celebrated qualities of the original, including the same drivers, acoustic design and classic soffit-mount styling. The result is a significantly improved monitor, built for the most demanding modern music, post-production and broadcast studios, which above all preserves the heritage and appeal of its predecessors, the 'A' and 'B' versions
Leading the new additions is the incorporation of SAM, Genelec's innovative technology and the foundation for the Genelec Loudspeaker Manager (GLM™) software application for PC and Mac.
Just as the first 1032 included rear-panel DIP switches to let users calibrate their system to their working environment, the 1032C now combines those switches with a more precise auto-calibration system that is easy to obtain today. With SAM, the 1032C takes its place in a family of Smart Active Monitors across the Genelec range, all of which can be used together to create networks from stereo all the way up to huge immersive setups.
With the GLM application, 1032C owners can quickly and easily optimize the performance of their setup even in the most challenging acoustic environments, compensating for external factors such as placement and time-of-flight anomalies to deliver the best listening experience in the room. As a latest-generation SAM device, the 1032C also includes video delay compensation, level calibration and input sensing for automatic power saving, known as Intelligent Signal Sensing (ISS™)
For those who want the classic 1000 Series Genelec sound and style but also want to benefit from the world's most sophisticated monitoring technologies, the 1032C is the perfect choice
Further refinements have been made to the already impressive previous models. Purpose-designed Class D amplification allows a weight reduction of 2.4 kg (now 17 kg), and the switch-mode power supply (with universal voltage), developed in-house by Genelec, brings greater efficiency and energy savings. Compared with the 1032B, the new 1032C has an improved maximum SPL of 114 dB with a frequency response of 40 Hz - 20 kHz. In terms of power, compared with the previous model's 120 W and 180 W, the 1032C's tweeter and woofer power amplifiers are now rated at 150 W and 250 W respectively.
"The original 1032 was a much-loved classic, both for the high SPL it offered and the finesse it delivered. Now, by incorporating the latest technologies, the 1032C brings the same advantages to a modern studio environment", commented Genelec Managing Director Siamäk Naghian. "For those who want the classic 1000 Series Genelec sound and style but also want to benefit from the world's most sophisticated monitoring technologies, the 1032C is the perfect choice"
