Neumann Unveils the KH 80 DSP, Its First Studio Monitor with Digital ProcessingThe new KH 80 DSP is the first Neumann near-field monitor to incorporate a DSP (digital signal processor), giving it greater consistency, more accuracy, precision and flexibility.

It is a bi-amplified, active two-way monitor (4” + 1”) that can be controlled over a network using the Neumann Control software, with an analog audio input (XLR or ¼” jack) and a wide variety of mounting accessories.

Thanks to the control software, it can be calibrated automatically (precision alignment), by answering simple questions (guided alignment), or freely with a built-in eight-band parametric equalizer (manual alignment).

As Wolfgang Fraissinet, president of Neumann, puts it: “With the KH series we have been obsessed with details. The result is a frequency response with a neutrality that defines a whole new reference class, at a price that was previously unthinkable for Neumann studio monitors."

The KH 80 DSP is designed to be used as a near-field monitor, as a front speaker in a compact multichannel system or as a rear speaker in a smaller multichannel system, in audio post-production studios for mix and mastering monitoring, and in OB vans. 2

The audio input connector has been strategically placed at the lower rear to make it easy to route the cable “downward”.
