Genelec 8430 Wins NAMM TEC Award 2017The winning product in the studio monitor technology category at the 32nd NAMM TEC Awards 2017 was the Genelec 8430, the first AoIP-compatible monitor of its kind. This award marks Genelec's 17th TEC Award in its almost 40-year history, including the induction of the historic 1031 monitor into the TECnology Hall of Fame in 2014.

The award was presented during the traditional annual TEC Awards ceremony, hosted by the NAMM Foundation and held on January 21 in the Pacific Ballroom of the Anaheim Hilton Hotel, next to the Anaheim Convention Center (California), where the NAMM Show, which brings together the music industry's leading manufacturers, takes place every year.

Based on RAVENNA technology for transporting audio over IP networks and fully compatible with the AES67 standard, the 8430 is the culmination of many years of intensive research. A great deal has happened in the world of audio over IP in recent years, including the publication of the AES67 interoperability standard in 2013, which is being accepted as the industry standard and is rapidly establishing audio over IP as a common method of signal transport.Genelec 8430 Wins NAMM TEC Award 2017

In addition to inputs for audio over IP and analog audio, the 8430 is a SAM monitor, which makes it possible to calibrate the monitor automatically to suit any acoustic environment, guaranteeing neutral, accurate sound reproduction.
