DiGiGrid on the Front Line Defending Home Audio

Since its beginnings as an independent company in 2013, DiGiGrid has managed to establish a strong presence in the professional audio interface market.

DiGiGrid, the business idea that grew out of a collaboration between DiGiCo and Waves, provides everything you need to produce, record and mix professional audio sessions in studios, on tour or without leaving home.

We are living through times in which the music industry is being forced to face an inevitable lockdown, with all its members experiencing the disastrous consequences firsthand. In any case, this is an industry that is resilient and has the capacity to hold out and reinvent itself. In this sense, DiGiGrid continues working hard to keep offering quality services to all the professionals who are striving to hang on.

Dan Page, director of DiGiGrid, knows this will be a tough fight for survival, but not an impossible one:

"Although every sector of our economy is suffering the consequences of Covid-19, it's worth remembering that our industry was the first to shut down and will probably be the last to return to normal. This uncertainty is especially worrying for freelancers, who have no guarantee of knowing when they'll be able to get back to normal. The good thing is that we've continued to see people bring out their ingenuity and their determination to overcome any adversity."

The whole DiGiGrid team has kept working to learn new skills and to refresh and strengthen many others. One of the practices they've adopted during this crisis is constant dialogue with their users, to learn their opinions, concerns and needs. In any case, they have continued to apply the best hardware to bring as many projects as possible to life.

"While we continue to be deprived of socializing and the pulsating excitement you feel at a live concert, technology keeps making our lives a little easier. During the first weeks, we all adapted to our respective realities.

"And it was only a matter of time before the first homemade productions started to appear. Sales of audiovisual equipment have skyrocketed, from video cameras and lighting fixtures to audio interfaces"

Musicians, engineers and producers still need professional home systems to bring their projects to life. DiGiGrid is well aware of this and continues to offer its best services to all interested users.

Today's computers offer a variety of processing options, and there are clearly tons of audio software options to choose from, but for professional applications, setups with external audio interfaces are still necessary. In this respect, the company's D, M, Q and S interfaces with PoE support stand out as a great choice.

Dan concludes by saying:

"We must not forget how serious the situation is, so we don't let our guard down and keep trying to make it end soon. We still have a long way to go, but making music will always be one of our best outlets, and we'll keep doing it. Because music helps us raise awareness, earn money and be happy. We've already shown our capacity for adaptation and imagination; now we have to hold on to hope for the future. At DiGiGrid we're eagerly awaiting the return to the stage but, for now, we're fighting the war from the inside!"
