The Dutch sound innovator introduces its smallest subwoofer to date: the BF121 is a high-performance subwoofer system that delivers precise bass response with very low distortion. It features a single 12" long-excursion woofer with a dual-spider suspension and a 4" voice coil in a bass-reflex configuration.
The direct-radiating woofer is mounted in a vented chamber with a large bass-reflex port for excellent breathing, increasing overall output and minimizing port compression. The frequency range is tuned to a -3 dB response from 40 Hz to 300 Hz and 33 Hz at -10 dB.
For full system performance, the BF121 is driven by the ALC amplified loudspeaker controller, which delivers maximum sound quality and power output with long-term operating reliability. The factory presets built into the ALC's drive processor provide gain, phase alignment and filtering with all Alcons systems, including cardioid pattern control presets.
The additional front-position NL4 connector allows easy “reverse connection” in cardioid arrays, which can be simulated in ARC, the Alcons Ribbon Calculator.
The BF121 is SIS ™ pre-wired: through the ALC's signal integrity sensing circuit, cable length and connector resistance between the BF121 and the ALC are dynamically compensated (system damping factor 10,000), which further reduces distortion and increases response accuracy.

Like the BF151 (just 15") and the BF181 (just 18"), the BF121 also features a 4-ohm system impedance, which offers very efficient amplifier loading and therefore allows maximum output from a very compact single-transducer configuration.
Phil continues: “The BF121 has the same punch and precision as our compact BF151 and BF181 subwoofers, to maintain the exclusive Alcons sound. It is our smallest subwoofer to date, which pairs with our smallest pro-ribbon system, a perfect fit!”
The BF121 is available in a touring version and an installation (“i”) version, without handles or casters and with a mounting flange with an M20 threaded mount. It is finished in a scratch-resistant Durotect ™ coating. Through the Architect Color Option ™ program, the BF121 can be finished in any RAL ™ color.
