STAGEPAS1K horizontal opening

The new STAGEPAS 1K redefines the standard for portable PA systems with its bold new design concept and significant improvements in audio performance, usability and portability. All of this is thanks to Yamaha's extensive experience in developing professional audio technologies and products, which in this case deliver an easy-to-carry, intuitive and simple unit with excellent sound pressure and crisp sound.

A compact yet powerful system

The STAGEPAS 1K features an "array" speaker equipped with 10 small-diameter (1.5-inch) drivers which, like our high-end touring speakers, incorporate neodymium magnets to deliver professional-level precision and clarity. The subwoofer is equipped with a 12-inch driver, the largest among speakers in its class, which isn't exactly what you'd call "compact," although the new cabinet design was developed to house the sizable driver while improving portability thanks to its streamlined construction and low weight, giving the impression of a compact speaker system.

With a notable increase in power, the new STAGEPAS 1K incorporates a 1,000 W Class D amplifier. It's one of the most powerful amplifiers in its class, delivering a sound pressure level (SPL) of 119 dB in a compact, sleek cabinet and speaker format. As impressive as its high power are the sound stability and quality the system maintains even at high output levels.

The digital mixer is professional and easy to use

The back of the STAGEPAS 1K subwoofer incorporates a digital mixer with a large input capacity for a unit its size, with a total of three mono mic/line input channels and a stereo input, and two of the mono input channels are equipped with high-impedance connectivity to support the direct connection of acoustic-electric guitars and other instruments. In addition to 6.35 mm jacks and 3.5 mm mini jacks, the stereo connections support Bluetooth playback, as well as a wide variety of input sources, from instruments to CD players to computers or mobile phones.

The mixer also comes equipped with tools typical of professional sound reinforcement gear, such as the one-knob EQ that handles multiband processing simultaneously, high-quality SPX digital reverb, which is a standard on professional consoles, and a "Mode" function for making compression settings optimized for different applications, such as speech or music. Each of these functions can be adjusted with a single knob, greatly simplifying complicated tasks such as EQ and compression so that users can achieve great sound quickly.

Users can also download the STAGEPAS Editor remote editing software, a dedicated iOS/Android app that lets you adjust volume and EQ parameters remotely. It's also possible to recall previously saved settings, enabling a more efficient workflow at rehearsals or performances.

Great utility, great portability

Yamaha Launches Its Next Generation of “All-in-One” Portable PA Systems: STAGEPAS 1KPhysically setting up the STAGEPAS 1K is very simple: you just place the "array" speaker on the two spacers (or one spacer if you prefer) and on the subwoofer cabinet. No cables or speaker stand are needed, making portability and setup as easy and fast as it gets. The carrying case not only protects the speaker during transport and storage, but can also hold the spacers and the speaker, plus the power cable and the mics and cables used by musicians or speakers. The optional DL-SP1K cart makes transport even more convenient.

With a simple, very sturdy mechanism that locks the speaker's protective cover, the very lightweight cart makes for reliable, hassle-free transport. For users who need a wider coverage area or more sound pressure/power output, two STAGEPAS 1K units can easily be linked. You can choose to link them in stereo or mono, and if they're set up in mono, you can use the inputs on both STAGEPAS 1K units (for a total of six mono inputs and two stereo inputs).
