Showmatch deltaq

Bose® Professional has kicked off global demo events for its new ShowMatch™ DeltaQ™ array loudspeakers. ShowMatch loudspeakers are compact and versatile and incorporate next-generation DeltaQ array technology, which makes it possible to create traditional configurations (J-array or constant curvature) as well as DeltaQ arrays. This allows selectable coverage control to be implemented across installed and portable or rental applications.

ShowMatch arrays can generate a maximum SPL of up to 145 dB (peak) or, when SPL is less critical, can achieve full coverage with fewer modules, offering significant savings in weight, height and cost.

Bose deltaQDeltaQ comes from the ability to change the directivity, or "Q," of each array module. When combined in an array, the acoustic energy is highly focused and can be matched more precisely to audience areas. This is an advance over traditional line arrays, which usually have much less pattern control.

The full-range ShowMatch loudspeakers will be available in three models (5, 10 and 20 degrees vertical) and feature a compact two-way design that includes four enhanced Bose EMB2S compression drivers and two 20 cm (8-inch) neodymium woofers exclusive to Bose. Each model includes two sets of field-interchangeable horizontal waveguides for narrow or wide coverage pattern control. Additional horizontal waveguides can be purchased separately. Removable side caps with handles and protection allow ShowMatch modules to be optimized for both installed and portable applications.

A companion subwoofer houses a single high-power 46 cm (18-inch) driver and includes integrated four-point rigging that can be installed facing forward or backward. A front grille-mounted NL4 connector makes wiring easy for cardioid configurations. The subwoofer's top cover is compatible with third-party mounting poles and optional accessories for ground-stack configurations.

ShowMatch offers a complete set of rigging accessories for up to 24 modules, arrays combined with subwoofers, sub arrays (including cardioid sub arrays) and ground-stack configurations.

In November, Bose Professional will release version 6.9 of its Modeler® sound system software to support acoustic designs using the new ShowMatch array loudspeakers. In addition, this fall Bose will launch the Bose Array Tool (BAT), a new interactive design aid supporting quick customer designs that optimizes DeltaQ array loudspeakers for multiple applications.

Bose ShowMatch DeltaQ: Compact and Versatile

The versatility of the ShowMatch array design helps ensure the best possible sound quality for a wide range of applications and configurations, from small clubs, houses of worship and corporate AV events to performing arts centers or amphitheaters with capacities of 5,000 to 7,500 people.

Shipments of Bose Professional ShowMatch DeltaQ array loudspeakers to dealers are scheduled to begin in November 2016. Demo events have already begun and will continue in the US, Europe and Asia through the end of the year.
