FBT launches the VERTUS CS1000 compact line array, the latest addition to this series. Created as a manageable solution for live performers and installers, the VERTUS CS1000 compact line array delivers maximum performance in a modular, scalable design.
Lightweight yet robust construction, combined with FBT’s engineering and elegance, has produced a system that can be set up on stage in a matter of minutes or discreetly installed in upscale venues to deliver high-quality sound with controlled directivity.
It is a biamplified system made up of a 12" high-excursion bass-reflex subwoofer and a passive satellite that connects to the subwoofer via a Neutrik SPEAKON connector and is fitted with six 3" neodymium full-range drivers. The subwoofer houses a two-channel Class D amplifier with a switch-mode power supply, delivering 600 W RMS to the subwoofer and 400 W RMS to the satellite. Both the subwoofer and the satellite are made of birch plywood. For easier storage and transport, the subwoofer cabinet has a compartment for the satellite and the supplied mounting pole. The compartment is fitted with a special locking system. Like all FBT products, the VERTUS CS1000 stands out for its elegant, effective engineering, as seen in the satellite’s mounting pole. Made up of three sections, the pole lets users adjust the satellite’s height to suit their needs. A special joint lets you tilt the satellite vertically to get the desired coverage in any room.
The satellite’s slender proportions provide wide horizontal dispersion of 110°, while the precise placement of the six 3" drivers in a J-shaped array creates 30° of vertical dispersion (+10° / −20°).
Need more power? The VERTUS CS1000 has a modular design, so two systems can be coupled to form a much more powerful rig. In this configuration, the two subwoofers are stacked, while the satellites are placed one on top of the other using optional accessories. This increases maximum SPL by 6 dB. Coverage also increases: although horizontal dispersion doesn’t change, vertical dispersion grows to 40° (+20° / −20°). Other features improve ease of use and ensure rugged construction. The subwoofer is fitted with rubber-coated aluminum handles for a more comfortable grip, making it easy to carry the entire system—subwoofer, satellite, mounting pole, joint and cabling—comfortably. The amplifier module is protected inside a die-cast aluminum housing and has no fan. The built-in DSP offers eight carefully designed presets backed by FBT’s long experience.
Finally, the VERTUS CS1000 is small in size but big in sound. The satellite’s level can be adjusted relative to the subwoofer in 8 steps from −4.5 to +5 dB. A selectable high-pass filter ensures optimal reproduction. As your needs grow, you can keep expanding the VERTUS CS1000 compact line array: simply combine four systems in a stereo configuration (two per side) and you can reach an impressive peak power of 8,000 W.
