JBL Launches Its New EON208P Portable PA System

A few months ago, JBL introduced the new EON208P portable PA system, developed to give small bands, singer-songwriters, cafés, clubs, schools, meetings, small houses of worship and gyms access to the legendary JBL sound.

The EON208P portable PA system builds on its predecessor, the JBL EON206P, and adds Bluetooth streaming, 8" speakers, a built-in 8-channel mixer and other features users will love.

This new system consists of two loudspeaker cabinets, which can be placed on the floor or on tripod stands. Each cabinet has an 8" woofer and a tweeter with a neodymium magnet and black nylon dome. It is a self-powered system with a 320-watt amplifier. Like the rest of the EON family, and with the aim of delivering superior sound and even coverage, the EON208P system features advanced waveguide technology and combines the latest advances in enclosure materials, acoustic science and transducer design.

JBL EON208 profile

The built-in 8-channel mixer offers remarkable flexibility for a wide variety of applications. Channels 1 to 4 accept jack or XLR inputs and include volume, reverb, treble and bass controls. They are therefore ideal for DJs, singers, instrumentalists and speakers. In addition, channels 1 to 3 have phantom power and a high-impedance input, letting users connect guitars as well as microphones or other devices that require this type of power.

Channels 5 and 6 accept a stereo pair, via stereo jacks or stereo RCA cables. This makes them ideal for keyboards and media players. Channels 7 and 8 accept a stereo minijack input for connecting mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets. Finally, users can connect Bluetooth devices using the corresponding pairing button. The JBL 208P system also offers a very robust output module, with separate channels for monitoring, headphones and a subwoofer channel, all simultaneously.

JBL EON208 UnitOpen

Designed to be highly portable, the EON 208P system is lightweight and packs up into a single suitcase-like unit that can be carried comfortably with just one hand. Buttons on the top release the speakers when you need to use them, and their pole cup makes mounting easy too. The unit also has storage space for the power and speaker cables.

"The JBL EON208P system continues a tradition that began in 1995 with the introduction of Harman's first portable PA loudspeakers," says Craig Lambrecht, Retail Solutions, Harman Professional. "Since then, nearly a million of them have been used in a wide range of applications”.
