The evolution of a legend
Since the introduction in 1994 of the CDJ-500, the world's first flat-surface DJ CD player, each new CDJ model has become the favorite of many of the most respected DJs and clubs around the world. The groundbreaking CDJ-1000 enabled DJ techniques such as scratching that had previously only been possible on analog turntables. Later, the CDJ-2000 ushered in rekordbox and Pro DJ Link.
For the first time, DJs could manage their music before exporting it to USB drives for use with the multi players. Later, features such as Wave Display (for a better understanding of how tracks develop musically) and Beat Sync made mixing more intuitive. In 2016, the CDJ-2000NXS2 became the first choice of clubs, festivals and DJs around the world performing with digital music files, thanks to its enhanced feature set and exceptional sound quality.
The CDJ has evolved significantly since the 1990s. And although the CDJ-3000 is in many ways unrecognizable from the first units, it retains the ambition and purpose that have always driven the CDJ range: to provide an intuitive interface and an ever more real feeling, as a DJ, of being able to manipulate the music you play in every way imaginable (and in some ways you haven't imagined yet).
Pioneer DJ's most advanced player
When you are performing, you need to know that your gear can bring your creative vision to life and play back anything you throw at it. The CDJ-3000 is designed to do that and more. The new MPU in this model is the first ever installed in a CDJ. It controls the unit, delivers stable performance and enables advanced new features, and it creates a smoother DJ experience with the rest of the buttons and other parts of the player.
For example, you will notice that tracks and Hot Cues load faster than ever thanks to the connection between the MPU and its Gigabit Ethernet port. The CDJ-3000 is also a rekordbox hardware unlock device. So, to use Performance mode, all you need to do is update to the latest version of the software, even if you are on the Free subscription plan.

You can not only hear the improvements in the CDJ-3000, you can see them too. You can choose the information you want to see, in laser-sharp detail, on its 9-inch touch screen, which is larger and higher resolution than that of the CDJ-2000NXS2. The intuitive user interface has been kept so you feel right at home, but handy new controls such as shortcuts have also been added, making it easier to jump between the different categories of your music collection.
New features such as touch preview allow quick, effortless track selection, and with new functions such as Touch Cue, Stacked Waveform and 3Band Waveform, you will always know where the perfect mix points are in both the track you are previewing and the one that is playing.
Want to show what you can do and create new music on the fly? Use the improved layout of the CDJ-3000 as if you were playing a musical instrument. Eight Hot Cue buttons, twice as many as on the CDJ-2000NXS2, are arranged from left to right below the waveform display so you can trigger them intuitively. Use Beat Jump via the new hardware buttons and press Key Sync to mix harmonically. You can also create a wider range of loops with the new 8-Beat Loop button, which joins the classic 4-Beat control.
Feel is everything when you are DJing, whether you are making a small pitch adjustment to a track or executing the most complex scratch technique. Pioneer DJ has redesigned the CDJ-3000's jog wheel to make it the smoothest to use of any multi player it has ever built. Touch latency is also better than ever, and you can use the LCD screen in the center of the jog to check the playhead position and see the album artwork for reference.
