Pioneer DJ DDJ-SX3: An Update to the DJ Controller for Serato DJ

Pioneer DJ has updated one of its best-known DJ controllers to create the 4-channel DDJ-SX3. Designed for exclusive use with Serato DJ Pro (formerly known as Serato DJ), the new controller's functions and expanded connectivity enable smooth transitions between DJs, guest speakers, music genres and individual tracks. With a familiar layout and a high-quality chassis, the DDJ-SX3 improves on the DDJ-SX2, which earned a solid reputation among a wide variety of people, including professional mobile DJs.

The new controller's intuitive interface and professional features let you bring renewed creativity to all your performances, from club nights and parties to weddings and corporate events. It also offers expanded connectivity to give you more flexibility when you have to juggle DJs, MCs and guest speakers. Changeovers are now seamless, even when the previous DJ uses a different laptop, since each can connect to one of the two USB ports at the same time.

In addition, thanks to the new mic input built into the front of the DDJ-SX3, you can talk to the crowd without taking up any of the mixer's four channels. And with the twin mic inputs on the back of the controller, you can use one mic while two others are out in the crowd on the dance floor, without interrupting the mix. You can control the volume, adjust the EQ and add FX to all three mics independently. Perfect your sets with the popular Sound Color FX and use the Key Shift, Key Sync and Pitch Play functions to mix songs harmonically with ease and even create live remixes.

The DDJ-SX3 will be available from June 2018 at a suggested retail price of €1,099, VAT included. It also includes a voucher for the Serato Flip and Pitch 'n Time DJ expansion packs, so you can use Flip, Key Shift, Key Sync, Pitch Play and other advanced functions for free.

You can use Serato DJ Pro by connecting the DDJ-SX3 to a computer with the program installed, with no subscription or license key needed; just download Serato DJ Pro.

Mic inputs with FX

A new mic input with volume control has been added to the front panel of the DDJ-SX3, in addition to the twin mic inputs inherited from the DDJ-SX2, located on the rear panel. You can control the volume, EQ and low-cut filter, and add reverb and a compressor to each of them, letting you tailor the sound to the specific venue and make sure voices come through clearly. You can also enhance your performance by applying Sound Color FX, such as Echo, and Serato DJ Pro FX to the two mics connected to the rear panel.

Dual USB ports

Connect two computers with Serato DJ Pro installed at the same time for smooth DJ changeovers or back-to-back performances. Or connect a backup computer in case your main laptop fails.

A clearer visual layout to get the most out of Serato DJ Pro functions

The DDJ-SX3 inherits the interface layout of our professional hardware, so you can use all its features intuitively.

Multicolor Performance Pads. Trigger functions for Serato DJ Pro, including Hot Cues, Sampler and Pitch Play, with large multicolor performance pads. Watch the colors and lighting change instantly to show the selected pad mode and playback status.

Reduced-latency jog wheels. Scratching feels more natural with the new jog wheels, which have lower latency than those on the DDJ-SX2. Get instant information about the current playback status and position on the illuminated On Jog display, for a more precise session.

Clearer layout, better looks, better feel. The DDJ-SX3 offers a natural feel thanks to its design and a clear visual separation between the deck and mixer sections, which feature high-quality black and metallic gray finishes respectively.

Advanced key functions via Pitch 'n Time DJ (license included)

A voucher for Serato Pitch 'n Time DJ is included with the DDJ-SX3, so you can use Key Shift, Key Sync, Pitch Play and other advanced functions to mix tracks smoothly and harmonically. Adjust the key of tracks in semitones with Key Shift, and match the keys of tracks during mixes with Key Sync. Pitch Play lets you turn your Hot Cues into a variety of different musical notes and assign them to the controller's performance pads so you can play them like a keyboard.

Standalone DJ mixer with multiple inputs/outputs

The DDJ-SX3 has four external input terminals for multi players, turntables, DJ controllers and more. Connect various types of speakers to the XLR and RCA master output connectors and to the TRS booth output terminal. You can also use the DDJ-SX3 as a standalone DJ mixer without connecting a computer. Connect multi players and analog turntables and use them with the controller's mixer.

Other functions

Serato Flip: The DDJ-SX3 includes a voucher for Serato Flip, with which you can create and save Hot Cue sequences and make custom edits of your tracks, which you can play back with a single button thanks to dedicated controls. Get even more creative by skipping or repeating sections on the fly.

Handles on both sides: Easy to carry and connect.

Mic input circuit: Clear audio without distortion, even at high volumes.

Needle search pad: Jump instantly to a specific point in the track with a touch of your finger on the pad.

Slip Mode: Keeps a track playing silently in the background during a loop, sample or Hot Cue. Let go of the jog wheel and the track returns to exactly the right place.

Paid upgrade to Serato DVS: For total control of the Serato DJ Pro platform using multi players and turntables (expansion pack available separately)
