Sampling features can be quantized via Pro DJ Link, plus a touchscreen, an intuitive design and analog filters based on Dave Smith Instruments' Prophet-6 synthesizer. And it can also be used as a standalone unit - you don't need a laptop in the booth.
Pioneer DJ has put more than 20 years of experience in the electronic music industry into launching our first sampler, creating a versatile piece of sound gear. Load samples via USB or from internal memory; then use the 16-step sequencer to create patterns or play loops, or trigger samples individually using the multicolor pads. And if you're connected to a CDJ via Pro DJ Link, everything syncs to the beat of the master deck, so you can be creative without fear of making mistakes.
Pioneer DJ has teamed up with legendary synthesizer creator Dave Smith to add the analog filters from his Prophet-6 to our sampler, so you can give your samples a touch of analog presence and warmth. In addition, the touch strip gives you intuitive control of various parameters, including pitch bend. The powerful real-time processor lets you reliably manipulate the sound thanks to its time stretch, pitch bend and amp envelope.
The full-color 7-inch touchscreen gives you total control. Select the Track menu to see all the information about your sounds and their parameters - which you can manipulate using the six rotary knobs located just below the screen. The sampler includes 2 GB of factory samples, courtesy of Loopmasters, so you can start creating bass lines and instrument parts straight out of the box.
Create up to 256 patterns using the 16-step sequencer
Enter sounds into the sequencer to create your own 16-step loops and use the six rotary knobs to modulate the sounds. The multicolor buttons reflect the colors you've assigned to each sound: for example, the kick drum in red. You can save your patterns and then play them back instantly in the booth or on stage.
Full-color 7-inch touchscreen with detailed sample information
The large touchscreen puts all the information you need right in your line of sight. Navigate quickly, load samples and assign colors to them for a visual guide. Or view real-time waveforms and full sample information, and use the knobs to manipulate a variety of parameters.
Multicolor pads with Velocity mode for live performance
The pressure-sensitive pads have been taken from our DJ controllers to give you a tactile experience. Load up to 16 samples onto the pads, then tap with your finger at different velocities to trigger samples on the fly. The lights reflect the colors you've assigned to each sound, while Velocity mode lets you control the sample volume depending on how hard you hit the pad.
8GB of flash memory and real-time processor for nonstop production
The TORAIZ SP-16 offers 16-voice polyphony so you can trigger all 16 samples at once - even while using time stretch or editing the sound with the amp envelope on the touchscreen. The 8 GB of flash memory gives you plenty of space - and it can be used as a standalone unit, with no need for a laptop.
Analog filters from the Dave Smith Instruments synthesizer
We collaborated with Dave Smith to add the analog filters from his iconic Prophet-6 synthesizer to the TORAIZ SP-16. Use the three knobs to sculpt your sound – manipulate parameters such as Drive, Cutoff and Resonance – and add real analog warmth.

Add the TORAIZ SP-16 to your CDJ or DDJ setup in the booth using Pro DJ Link, and the sampler will match its pads and loops to the tempo of the master deck. You can layer multiple sounds over your tracks, always perfectly in sync. It also has MIDI clock so you can connect other devices via USB and keep them in sync, and soon we will enable connectivity with music apps and synthesizers.
