TOTAL FX: Pioneer DJ Launches the RMX-1000 App for iPad

rmx1000 ipad xpad Pioneer DJ launches the RMX-1000 for iPad: the touch app lets producers add high-quality effects to the tracks in their iTunes library. The RMX-1000 app works to its full potential when paired with the Audiobus and Inter-App Audio apps, which let you add FX to tracks created on your iPad.

Since it went on sale in 2012, the RMX-1000 has become a very popular FX unit, used both in the studio and in live sets. Now the RMX-1000 app emulates the hardware, using the touch screen to control the effects: Scene FX, Isolator FX, X-PAD FX and Release FX. Just like the RMX-1000, the app lets producers customize FX parameters to create their own original FX.

The RMX-1000 iOS app supports the Audiobus app (sold separately) and Inter-App Audio, which means producers can add FX to music they've composed using DAW (digital audio workstation) apps such as Cubasis or iMaschine, and control and record their creations using a single interface (GUI).

The RMX-1000 app for iPad is available from October 2015 at a suggested retail price of €19.99, VAT included.

Scene FX
Break down and rebuild tracks by combining ten types of FX, and manipulate the Wet/Dry parameter, length and resonance to give them even more character.

Isolator FX
Alter the rhythm and timbre of the music by adjusting the Hi/Mid/Low frequencies, and add three types of FX: Cut/Add, Trans/Roll and Gate/Drive.

X-Pad FX
Trigger preassigned samples synced to the BPM and use the X-Pad to repeat the samples at different speeds. The preassigned Beat FX (Kick, Snare, Clap and Hi-hat) can also be customized using other internal samples.

Release FX
Make refined exits from various complex FX combinations and return to the track using Back Spin, Vinyl Brake and Echo, or go straight back to the music.

PLUS: the parameters of many of the FX can be customized so producers can create original sounds and experiment with their own style.
