Celestion introduces an innovative design for metal guitarists

At this year’s Winter NAMM 2026, Celestion unveiled the new G12-100 Raven guitar speaker. Designed for modern metal guitarists, the Raven represents the most aggressive sound Celestion has developed to date, combining the brand’s signature tonal integrity with an innovative ultralight design.

The Raven stands out for its ability to deliver the heaviest modern metal tones while maintaining an impressively low weight. The key to this innovation lies in a newly redesigned ceramic magnet assembly. Its new motor structure significantly reduces the speaker’s overall weight —down to just 2.5 kg— without compromising the enormous magnetic force required to drive such a powerful sound.

Built to deliver commanding power, the 12-inch Raven features a 100W rating, a 2-inch voice coil, and 100dB sensitivity. This combination allows it to handle high-gain lead lines and intense low-end riffs with ease. Its tonal character is defined by detailed, powerful mids, present highs, and a firm, authoritative low end. In addition, the high-frequency response has been carefully voiced to maintain clarity without ever becoming harsh or brittle.
