These powered speakers deliver professional-quality sound in corporate, educational and multimedia production settings. Denon Professional, through GAPLASA, its distributor in Spain, introduces its new system of compact powered monitors, the DN-304S.
They offer impressive range and high output power, all from a compact design. The DN-304S speakers give users in corporate and educational settings, as well as in multimedia production, speakers whose performance definitely surpasses similar models currently in use.
The DN-304S system consists of two cabinets. Each has a high-excursion 4" woofer and a 1" ferrofluid-cooled tweeter. The tweeter is mounted in a proprietary waveguide that controls dispersion, ensuring optimal coverage of the listening area, free from the reflections of designs with overly wide dispersion and the "shadow" zones produced by designs with overly narrow coverage.
The left speaker houses the system's stereo amplifier, with 20 W per channel. The amplifier uses a class A/B architecture. Class A/B amplifiers have better headroom and overload characteristics than the class D amplifiers commonly used in powered speakers, and this is a key factor in achieving the DN-304S's sound quality.
In addition, the cabinets are made of MDF, a dense, acoustically inert material that prevents the cabinet from vibrating and reducing the system's clarity. This is a major advantage over similar consumer speakers, most of which suffer from vibrations due to their molded plastic construction.
Ease of use and flexible connectivity were also important considerations in the design of the DN-304S. The front panel of the left speaker houses the volume control, as well as a mini-jack aux input for connecting other devices and a headphone output for private listening.
"With their high-quality components, class A/B amplification and vibration-free MDF enclosures, the DN-304S deliver sonic performance that makes them perfect for conference rooms, classrooms and presentation areas in commercial settings, as well as for monitoring in multimedia production work," says Costa Lakoumentas, Senior VP at Denon Professional.
"These professionals require performance that goes beyond what they get from conventional consumer speakers. The DN-304S were made for them."
