Mayumana's Rumba! to the Beat of Estopa with beyerdynamic Wireless

The Teatro Rialto on Madrid's Gran Vía vibrates every night with Rumba!, the new show by Mayumana, featuring the music of Estopa. While keeping its essence of dance, rhythm and percussion that makes it unique, MAYUMANA in "Rumba!" refreshes its concept by adding a new dimension: a storyline woven into the show.

This time it is based on the songs of ESTOPA, whose music provides the show's soundtrack. It is performed by an extraordinary cast of artists who sing, dance and play all the instruments to create the rhythmic and visual miracle that sets all MAYUMANA shows apart, already enjoyed in Spain by more than 1,000,000 spectators. The show is produced by SOM Produce, the leading privately owned Spanish company in local production of large-scale musical shows, with a large number of productions to its name, such as SONRISAS Y LÁGRIMAS (THE SOUND OF MUSIC), AVENUE Q, CHICAGO, EL MAGO POP, CUARTO MILENIO, 40 EL MUSICAL, MÁS DE 100 MENTIRAS, GREASE, THE GLASS MENAGERIE, BUENA GENTE, PRISCILLA, QUEEN OF THE DESERT and CABARET.

To deliver sound quality to every seat in the theater, the show's sound designer, Javier Isequilla, has relied on the wireless technology of the TG1000 systems from German brand beyerdynamic. A total of 22 wireless channels for both the actors' and actresses' voices and for certain instruments that need mobility, such as the electric guitars, bass, accordion and surdos. "If I have to highlight something, it's the reliability and robustness of the RF, and how easily the TG1000 auto-tunes to the free spaces in the spectrum," says Javier Isequilla.

These systems were supplied by Proyect-Arte, one of the first rental companies in Europe to choose beyerdynamic's TG1000 system for its product range, which currently has more than 60 TG1000 channels in stock. "We are very happy with the TG1000 wireless systems and their RF performance," says David Castelló, manager of Proyect-Arte.

The beyerdynamic TG 1000 system, with its 24-bit resolution and total latency of 2.1 ms, offers perfect functionality for live performance. Thanks to its tremendous 319 MHz bandwidth in the UHF band (470–789 MHz), this system is ideal not only for theater use but is also tailor-made for the touring world. It allows all the dual receivers to be exactly the same, with no need to think about frequency banks. The system supports the simultaneous use of up to 150 wireless channels with the same receiver model. In addition, the German brand announced at the last ISE show that, starting in May, all TG1000 receivers will feature built-in Dante, making the system even more versatile.

The production also uses other microphones from the brand, such as the MCE85 shotgun microphones, which capture the details of what happens on stage, as well as the legendary M160 ribbon microphone, used here on the two percussion setups featured in the show.
