FBT designs and builds high-end professional audio products with the goal of raising sound quality, improving its clarity and making it harmonious and melodious, so that music reaches the heart and soul of those who listen to it. Recanati is the city of Poetry... but also of Music; it is the soundtrack that has accompanied the lives of entire generations in this small corner of central Italy, a land rich in history, art and passion. It was here, in 1966, that FBT was born. In its early days it was a simple artisan workshop. Over the years, its strategy of high flexibility and constant attention to new demands in the field of sound has turned this small "workshop" into a far-reaching company, able to respond with flexibility and dynamism to the rapid evolution of the market, offering professionalism, reliability and quality. Today FBT is a leading company nationally and internationally. Its extensive experience ranges from Professional Audio Equipment sound reinforcement systems to Audio Contractor installed sound, Cicognani tube instrument amplifiers and Qube high-end audio.

It is a complete company that, within a single structure, includes research and design workshops, electronics, plastic molding, carpentry, a machine shop, painting, testing, and pre- and after-sales support: a set of self-sufficient departments that integrate and coordinate the different activities, carrying out strict controls on an ongoing basis. Meticulous attention to detail and a deep vocation for high-end design, the fruit of an Italian tradition that makes style a timeless art, rich in values and meaning. A production cycle that is entirely Made in Italy, which FBT manages at every stage, successfully and determinedly applying the philosophy of a "national" product and quality.

Innovation within tradition: that is FBT's secret. The vast know-how acquired over the years, advanced engineering and the drive to discover important new frontiers of sound allow FBT to create professional audio products and systems of the highest quality. A team of experts able to select the most suitable and innovative materials and to offer the most advanced acoustic and electronic technology. Processor-equipped loudspeakers, neodymium drivers, power amps using pulse-width modulation (PWM), extremely intuitive and easily accessible control panels: a varied set of advantages that make up FBT's strength. Continuous renewal, constant evolution that never forgets tradition and the starting point: a passion for Music.

HIMAXX

With the new HiMaxX40a, FBT sets a new standard in the segment of 12" and 15" injection-molded polypropylene speakers for sound reinforcement, taking performance and technology to a level unthinkable until now.

The FBT HiMaxX40a joins the MaxX4a, including all the technological features that have made that speaker an international best-seller, and moves up to an even higher level of performance.

The design of a new polypropylene enclosure, the use of a switch-mode power supply and high-efficiency amplifier stages, and improved drivers were the tasks of FBT's research and development team, aimed at optimizing the power-to-weight ratio.

The series consists of three models: two full-range two-way polypropylene speakers, the HiMaxX 40 (12" + 1") and the HiMaxX 60 (15" + 1.4"), and a compact 18" birch band-pass SUB (HiMaxX 100Sa).

Compact and light, the HiMaxX series brilliantly meets the toughest demands of enthusiasts, musicians and professionals looking for powerful, versatile, top-quality speakers. Ideal for live and sound reinforcement applications that require easy, convenient transport, they are also suitable for permanent installation thanks to the design of the enclosures and the optional accessories.

> A rugged, dynamic design with an aggressive, clean line. A solid, light cabinet that allows great versatility of use for installation with rigging points and optional accessories.

Angled side for use as a stage monitor.

> Control panel specifically designed for ease of use and immediate access to the controls. XLR/jack mic/line input, stereo aux input with volume (HIMAXX40A), three-band tone controls, ground lift, diagnostic LED.

> Driver completely redesigned and optimized in collaboration with B&C. FBT specifically studied and designed a new frame, a more efficient ventilation circuit that reduces power compression by 2dB, a noticeably stiffer cone that improves reliability and distortion, and an even more powerful neodymium magnet for greater control and efficiency.

The voice coil diameter is 75 mm, for greater power and reliability.

> B&C compression driver with a 25 mm (1'') throat and a 44 mm (1.7'') voice coil (HIMAXX40) for greater power. Thanks to the use of a flux demodulation ring, the high frequencies reproduced are even more dynamic and crystal-clear.

> The development of the innovative amplifier is the result of years of research in FBT's R&D labs. The conflicting advantages of light weight, high power, efficiency and reliability have been combined by applying the latest technologies: a switch-mode power supply to reduce weight and increase the speed of power delivery; a high-efficiency PWM amplifier for the lows, which optimizes the power delivered with minimal heat dissipation. The class G high-frequency amplifier delivers the sound quality of class A with much higher efficiency.

> The quiet preamplifier built with SMD technology handles the EQ, the 24dB/oct crossover, the protections, the limiter and the control panel controls.

> The horn profile has been redesigned to allow greater directivity control with reduced distortion. The dispersion angle is 90°H x 60°V.

> A research study carried out with a university on cabinet resonances and air fluid dynamics led to the creation of an absolutely inert gas-injected polypropylene enclosure with efficient reflex ports free of unwanted turbulence.

FORMULA

Long experience in designing and producing live mixers has allowed FBT to develop a new series, Formula, setting a new standard of quality in the field of professional live mixers.

Available in several formats, Formula products feature a wide variety of functions that make them ideal for live applications such as touring, recording, permanent installations, clubs, houses of worship, auditoriums and theaters.

The Formula 248 and 328 mixers offer important new advantages, such as FOH, monitor mixing, a matrix, four subgroups and headphone pre-listening. They are available with 24 and 32 channels, plus six stereo channels. The Formula 128E and 122E offer the same quality and reliable design as the larger models. Solid and compact, they meet the needs of those who require professional mixers with a small footprint.

Specifications

> Balanced input with a high degree of immunity to induced noise (CMRR better than -80dB).

> Mic preamp built with special circuitry to guarantee high fidelity, dynamics and transparency.

> Highly efficient tone controls for achieving the desired "live" tone with the utmost ease (+/- 15 dB, Q > 2.5).

> Eight auxes make proper monitoring possible. Aux1 and Aux2, in addition to their XLR-M signal outputs, have two internal amplifiers, each with its own volume, capable of driving two high-volume headphone outputs.

> 100 mm-travel "ALPS" faders provide precise control of input and output levels.

> Each input channel can be assigned to the four subgroups, the Main L/R and the Mono output (Formula 248/328).

> Two stereo channels dedicated to effects returns increase the working capacity of the Formula 248/328 mixer.

> With the eight-in, four-out matrix, four independent audio lines can be created (obtained by mixing the signals from the subgroups, the Main L/R, the Mono and an external signal), for use in recordings and to provide listening in different zones, for audio control systems and additional aux outputs.

> 4-pin "Neutrik" sockets allow 5-watt lamps to be installed to light the console.

> Thanks to the internal switch-mode power supply, the mixers can be powered from universal mains voltage (85 VAC to 260 VAC, 50/60 Hz).
