First of all, we want to mention our good impression of the quality and finish of these monitors. Small details that make them, regardless of their sound, which we'll discuss later, a source of small satisfactions. For example, their silicone edges, which keep the monitor from slipping and isolate it from contact with the surface. Reliable and easy to handle, its rear panel lets us make the following adjustments:
The Emes Pink TV is a small monitor, perfect for project studios or video editing suites. Given its compact size, it can be fitted into the most awkward spaces.
System description
The Pink uses the bass reflex principle. A 25mm neodymium driver is mounted from the rear to the baffle, leading into a radial waveguide. This ensures a perfect polar pattern, low distortion and smooth linearity across a wide spectrum.
The "liquid" front design (shockproof, bump-proof and tilt-proof) handles all the energy emitted without distortion. Two identical 80W amplifiers are used for the high- and low-frequency sections.
Our "little" Pink TV active has all the design features we offer on the "big ones"!
Driver technology
A 14cm shielded driver is used in the low-frequency section. We chose this driver because of its outstanding acceleration performance, which means it has tremendous power. The membrane is a composite material containing paper, fiberglass and Kevlar. This keeps the membrane as rigid as possible while still very lightweight.
Also unusual is the "air flow" design which... almost manages to eliminate air compression inside the driver itself!
The 25mm neodymium tweeter is a real work of art, with a total weight of 300 g and performance equivalent to the big ones!
The electronics
Two completely independent channels serve to keep electronic crosstalk to a minimum. Each has an identical amplifier, which means the tweeter has the same amount of power behind it as the woofer, 2 x 80W peak. A feature that is always essential, because distortion created by different designs or by variations in the power input is not desirable. Our so-called "quick delivery" digital power supply is built with the same goal in mind, and works 2,000 times faster than analog ones while weighing much less. On the rear panel you'll find sixteen-step switches for input sensitivity, for low-frequency control (-6 to +4 dB) and for the HF section (-4 to +4 dB).
To our ears and eyes
Compared with the rest of the gear we have on hand, when we opened the box and set it next to the others, it looked like the little brother. Very compact dimensions and a "little guy" look.
Our first impression was of a convenient, manageable monitor for small spaces where you don't need to work with huge power. Before connecting it we appreciated the good finish, the carefully thought-out details, such as the silicone edges mentioned earlier, and an overall pleasant and attractive look.
Time to connect them. XLR in hand, and after placing them properly, we played several multitrack sequences, first going through each track in "solo" in order to appreciate exactly how each element sounded: kick, snare, toms, cymbals, hi-hat, electric guitars, acoustics, vocals, backing vocals, keyboard "beds," pianos, brass, vocals.....
Then we played all the tracks together. It's curious how each monitor slightly changes every color, and this is a bit frightening at first, since "in theory" they should sound more or less alike in certain respects.
To our ears, and in plain language, the acoustic impressions were very pleasing. A monitor that is not at all harsh, balanced, reliable and with no excesses anywhere. We didn't notice exaggerated coloration at any frequency, on top of the ease of adjustment the rear panel provides, as you can see in the graphs. For our taste, it falls a little short in volume, although, depending on the application, location and project, it may be exactly the monitor we need.
Overall, we give the product our seal of approval, with pleasant surprise, because it is better than it looks and, in short, the company shows clear professionalism and expertise in the design and production of monitors.
As an aside to all distributors and importers of the various audio brands, we add our request (common in all cases) for more information in Spanish, since not everyone looking for documentation understands English, and documentation in the language of the country where products are distributed is always appreciated.

Two-channel, two-way nearfield monitor - according to the ESE patent.
EMES is the first studio monitor manufacturer to design professional studio monitor systems using Embracing Sound Experience technology. The Swedish company Embracing Sound Experience AB developed a stereo reproduction system that lets us set up a single system capable of reproducing any stereo image while avoiding the poor performance of standard stereo setups.
This revolutionary concept represents a new approach to the problem of acoustic crosstalk (the fact that the left ear hears the right speaker and vice versa), in order to achieve a cohesive stereo image for the high-resolution digital equipment available today.
The "OWL active" has been designed as a stereo nearfield system for any professional application at listening distances from 100 to 350 cm. The system has all the functions needed to use it intelligently: level control, bass correction and tweeter level correction. The electronics are built as fully separate channel paths to achieve the highest possible image quality. All driver components are measured twice and have a maximum tolerance of ±0.2 dB!!
All EMES active monitors are shipped with individual frequency response charts showing the response of the L and R channels and the difference between them. An OWL system can easily replace a complete front channel setup (L/C/R) in a surround sound configuration.
For more information about Embracing Sound Experience technology, you can visit the Embracing Sound Experience website, leave your email address there and enter the "secret area" after receiving a login code. Then you need to look for the "white/pink paper."
The system
The OWL is a two-channel, two-way system using a bass reflex design. All the drivers are powered individually by identical amplifiers of equivalent performance (4 x 100W RMS). A bi-radial horn array (20mm long) is used in front of the tweeters to optimize the crossover point, reducing distortion to an extremely low value in order to obtain the smoothest possible polar pattern, since the ESE patent we have obtained... is very sensitive to imprecise engineering!! As an option we offer the so-called "Acoustic Wings™," which extend the front of the speaker. The result is an even wider listening area if needed.
Driver technology
As the woofer/midrange driver we use a modified carbon-paper membrane from the European leader in high-quality driver manufacturing. It's the least coloring chassis we have ever seen, because a woofer that has to be perfect even at 1 kHz is a major challenge. The most important part of the OWL system is the tweeters, because they have to be very small so they can be mounted as close together as possible. On the other hand, these devices have to reproduce frequencies lower than 1 kHz
We could only find two companies capable of designing something like this, and we're sure we chose the best!
The electronics
Two complete, individual channel strips serve to keep electronic interference to a minimum. Each has an identical amplifier, which means the tweeter has the same amount of power behind it as the woofer. A design feature not to be overlooked, because we don't want distortion created by different designs or by variations in output signal power. The so-called "quick delivery" digital power supply is built with the same goal in mind: it works 2,000 times faster than analog ones and is much lighter. On the rear panel there are sixteen-step switches for input sensitivity, for low-frequency control (-6 to +4 dB) and for the HF section (-4 to +4 dB).
