The Mackie HR624 is a two-way, active, six-inch, THX-certified reference monitor that offers the same legendary accuracy as Mackie's HR824 in a more compact, lighter and lower-priced package.
The Mackie HR624 is the perfect choice for smaller recording studios, project studios or home studios looking for a monitor with the best balance between features and price. Thanks to shared acoustic technology, the HR624 offers the same clarity and responsiveness as the HR824, just in a smaller size. Its six-inch woofer delivers a smooth, outstanding midrange response with the same high-end clarity and low-end power as the HR824. With remarkably even dispersion for a wider sweet spot and controls that can be adjusted at will for different acoustic spaces, the HR624 is an excellent choice for high-precision near-field monitoring.

Our assessment
These monitors offer a lot for their reasonable price. Opinions vary depending on the type of user, but in short, taking them all into account, we can say that this monitor offers quality, power, easy controls for eliminating unwanted coloration caused by placement, more than enough power, accuracy and therefore confidence in our mixes, and good looks (although for many this is a minor criterion, why refuse to have everything we need in an attractive monitor?). All at an affordable and reasonably attainable price.
