Magix, Samplitude Pro X2. We were already familiar with what Magix offers compared with Cubase, Pro Tools and company. Although in earlier versions Samplitude competed more with mastering and audio editing software such as Steinberg's WaveLab, the latest releases take a more comprehensive approach. They cover practically every DAW software task, with a personality of their own and to their own standards.
Among the highlights, and under its motto "the trick is in our audio engine," it announces new multiple outputs that improve output routing, new, more flexible plugin assignments, support for VCA buses, zplane time stretching, a new VST3 interface to support this type of plugin, an on-screen keyboard, new instruments (analog synths, bass machine, rock drums and vintage organ), "Go to Peak value" to jump straight to the peaks of selected objects, improvements to its arranger, and new automation systems.

What can I do with Samplitude? Record and edit audio and MIDI, compose, mix/process and master audio at the highest quality.
Why is the audio engine so important? The audio engine is directly responsible for the final sound. It's what ensures, for example, that the quality, weight and power of your open project/song are preserved once you render it to a file (track bouncing).
What is object-based editing? An object is each piece of audio that makes up each track. Imagine being able to edit and process each element of a track independently, in addition to processing the whole track, as is already the norm.
What's this about Samplitude including its own CD and DVD editor and burner? Without switching programs, you can arrange the different songs however you like, create the necessary crossfades, set the PQ codes (to send straight to the pressing plant), complete the test CD and burn it directly to an audio CD or DVD.
What is Vandal? It's a guitar and bass amp simulator that really sounds weighty and produces tones that keep their presence in the mix. It's made up of various types of amplifiers, speakers, effects…
What is Revolver Tracks? Also called combined tracks or alternative playback tracks, it's a new utility that lets you switch between different takes and edits of one or more tracks, while the effects, transitions and track settings remain unchanged. You can combine different solos or passages in the final mix and compare them with each other to decide which is best.
Can I work at 24-bit/96 kHz? Yes; in fact, you can work at up to 384 kHz/32-bit floating point. And of course at the other rates in between 44.1 and 384 kHz (48, 88.2, 176.4 and 192).
Minimum system requirements: Microsoft Windows 7 | 8 | 8.1 32-bit and 64-bit systems
