Solid State Logic Expands Its Range of 500 Series Modular Processors

Solid State Logic (SSL) introduces two new modular processors that update its popular range of 500 series modules. The classic G-Comp Bus Compressor, E-EQ and E-Dynamics modules take on a new dimension and a new steel design.

Niall Feldman, director of new products at SSL, comments: "We've spent the last 20 years striving to keep our essence in each of our consoles and processors, putting our products fully at the service of producers, engineers and musicians. One of our achievements has been the 500 series. The opportunity to continue our work with this range of processors was too tempting to look the other way."

ULTRAVIOLET reinvents the acclaimed minimal-phase-shift Violet stereo EQ from the new Fusion analog processor and converts it to the native 500 series format. In addition to the advantages of the Violet Fusion, ULTRAVIOLET adds two dedicated mid bands, as well as a Focus mode for getting the most out of the EQ.

ULTRAVIOLET draws on SSL's legacy, selecting key frequencies and response curves to enhance the musicality of the EQ. The result is a sonic design that adapts to any mix, subgroup or instrument

SiX Channel features SuperAnalogue processing technology (found in SSL's SiX console) and also includes a mic preamp and high- and low-frequency EQ. SiX Channel is all you need to easily add mic/line inputs to the line-level inputs of any of your audio devices (also included in the SiX console). In a single-slot design, SiX Channel is a great example of how it's possible to create a professional modular mixer with so many features in so little space.

The versatility of the VHD+ Pre is further enhanced by front and rear inputs with four different impedance settings. These features make it an incredibly adaptable mic preamp and DI box that's easy to use with multiple mics and instruments. Its patented VHD (Variable Harmonic Drive) system provides an ultra-clean recording path, better known as SuperAnalogue, and uses a 100% analog signal path to produce rich, varied harmonic distortion.
