With Steinberg Nuendo software a fundamental part of many post-production facilities, Yamaha Nuage's quick and easy access to its toolset helps meet clients' demands. That is why MWA Sound in Germany has chosen Yamaha's Nuage system to get the most out of Nuendo as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Located in Soltau, halfway between the cities of Hamburg and Hanover, MWA Sound was founded in 2010 by studio recording veteran Michael Andreas. The company offers sound-to-picture services, including film sound, post-production, sound design and dubbing, and is also active in the live audio market.
MWA has worked on a wide range of projects, including film and DVD, such as Das Kleine Arschloch, Fleisch ist mein Gemüse, The Night Watchmen, Kurt Cobain - Tod einer Ikone, The Eichmann Show and Berlin 36. Its television work has included Der Tatortreiniger, Tatort, Der Kommissar und das Meer, Traumschiff, Forsthaus Falkenau, Der Bergdoktor, SOKO Wismar and many more.
"We've been using Nuendo since version 3 in 2005," says Michael. "It's a very flexible tool, and we like the fact that its development has always focused on including new and more efficient workflows, such as those for ADR. The technical support is also excellent and has a very personal touch."
MWA is a longtime user of Steinberg Nuendo DAW software and of Yamaha mixing consoles for its live business, so it was obvious that the two technologies would come together in MWA's latest investment, a Nuage post-production system.

Seamless integration between hardware and software is a key factor in maintaining a fast, efficient workflow in sound-to-picture work. Comprising a Nuage Master unit and a Nuage Fader unit, the system has helped Michael and his colleague, sound designer Bernd Schaumburg, get the most out of Nuendo, since it gives them intuitive control that lets them concentrate exclusively on their work rather than on the technology behind it.
"Thanks to our long-term success with Nuendo, investing in a Nuage system was a simple step to help maximize our efficiency," says Michael. "All the hardware features are very good, and we particularly like the user-assignable buttons. They have allowed us to access all of Nuendo's functions much more quickly and easily, simplifying the process and reducing the time we spend on projects. Overall, it has substantially improved our success as well as the studio's."
