AVANTE Audio has recently expanded its Imperio series with new systems that will undoubtedly make life easier for audio professionals. Designed using precise methods, they are the perfect choice for putting a PA system into operation. Imperio is a mini-array system whose sound stands out far more than its size would suggest, thanks to its power, flexibility and scalability. It can be used in installations in mid-size venues and, just as well, by production companies on tours or at a variety of events.
Right at the core of the series, we also find the Imperio mid/top. This unit provides a 90x15º dispersion angle, and its rigging capability allows several additional units to be connected with splay angles of 0, 4, 8 or 12º.
The compact (yet lightweight) cabinet includes a 240W (RMS) Class D amplifier, which drives a pair of 4.75" neodymium woofers and six 1.75" IDVAT high-frequency drivers (Inverted Dome Vertical Array Technology). For low-frequency reproduction, Imperio also includes a dual 10" subwoofer. This is the Imperio SUB210 which, with a 6º pitch design, contains a 700W (RMS) Class D amplifier and an internal crossover (ranging from 90Hz to 120Hz).
However, the largest system in the series is the Imperio Max210. It includes eight Imperio modules, a pair of Imperio SUB210 subwoofers and a pair of Imperio Flybars, plus three sets of link pins. This gives you everything you need for a very complete flown system with bass reinforcement, particularly for use in theaters and concert halls holding more than 1,000 people.
The Imperio Theater Rig 210, meanwhile, is designed for use in smaller spaces, such as small theaters or more intimate venues. The Imperio 210 includes one Imperio SUB210 subwoofer, a pair of Imperio Fly Bars and one set of link pins. This package provides everything we need if what we are looking to do is fly five speakers while also hanging the subwoofer in the system above the array modules.

The Imperio Show Rig 210 includes four Imperio modules, two Imperio SUB210s, one Imperio Fly Bar and one set of link pins. This system also lets you fly the four array elements, but in this case the subwoofers stay stacked on the floor. The Imperio Show Rig 210 can be used in small spaces where low-frequency music is required.
Created especially for situations where flown installations are not possible (or not required), the Imperio Bleacher Stack 210 arrives. This system includes four Imperio modules and one SUB210 subwoofer, paired in turn with one Imperio Fly Bar and one set of link pins. The four cabinets can be mounted on top of the subwoofer, and the link pins can be used to manually set the degree of splay between each module. That way, a staggered arrangement of the equipment at different levels can be achieved.
Finally, there is the Imperio Gig Rig 210, made up of a pair of Imperio modules along with a single SUB210 and a pole kit. Thanks to its configuration, the cabinets can be mounted on top of the subwoofer, making it easy to transport and set up in PA systems. It is the perfect option for a wide range of events, both small and large.
With the exception of the Imperio Gig Rig 210, all systems can be purchased in a sleek black finish, or in white. The white systems feature not only white versions of the cabinets and subwoofers, but also of all the components that make them up. These systems are ideal for environments that call for discreet, uncluttered designs, such as churches or hotel venues where white can play a key role. All systems are available in a standard black finish as well as a sleek white.
In addition, AVANTE Audio has also released a flight case under the name Imperio Road QRC. This large travel case has a protective aluminum edge and four comfortable handles for carrying. It also has several compartments for storing the series' different modules, as well as a slot for the flybar and extra space for cabling. To be easily transported, the case is mounted on large wheels and its lid is padded to make it easier to stack cases when they travel on a truck or plane, or sit in a warehouse.
"Imperio has been on the market for more than a year and it has truly been very well received by the public," says Chuck Green, sales director at AVANTE Audio
"People are excited not only about the versatility of the systems (since they can be installed in multiple configurations), but also about the impressive audio quality."
