These updated versions are the successors to the STAGEPAS 400i and 600i, which have sold more than 400,000 units worldwide after earning a reputation as a compact, high-powered, all-in-one portable sound system with exceptional sound quality. Along with the new addition of Bluetooth audio, high-efficiency amps and speakers, Yamaha's latest-generation DSP and a full set of built-in features, the new STAGEPAS will extend the system's already versatile capabilities to a broad range of uses.
Both the 400BT and the 600BT feature two sleek, lightweight speakers and a detachable powered mixer, along with a pair of speaker cables and a power cable, giving users a complete, portable sound solution that can be set up quickly and easily in a variety of configurations and environments. The new Bluetooth feature lets users stream audio remotely from up to 10 meters away from the amp/mixer unit, giving musicians, speakers or instructors instant access to background music, sound effects or any other audio they choose from their music library.
Producing 400 watts and 680 watts respectively, the 400BT and 600BT deliver a significant amount of output power considering the system's compact size. Yamaha's powerful DSP technologies ensure that every STAGEPAS delivers consistent, high-quality sound at any volume level, while extending the life of vital amplifier components through advanced limiter circuits. The innovative speaker design also boosts system performance by delivering high-quality sound evenly distributed over a wide coverage area.
The new models have 4 mic/line inputs and 6 line inputs (the STAGEPAS 400BT has 4 line inputs). Inputs 3 and 4 feature a combo jack that accepts XLR or 1/4" cables. In addition, both models have a stereo RCA jack, a stereo mini jack and a Bluetooth input that allows wireless audio playback from smartphones, tablets and computers.
With an updated knob design that improves visibility for mixing and managing the console in low-light situations, the detachable mixer features simple, intuitive controls that deliver high-quality sound in a matter of seconds. One knob provides access to four high-resolution SPX reverbs, while Yamaha's 1-knob Master EQ offers optimized settings to tailor the sound to your environment with a single control. The built-in feedback suppressor even lets users eliminate unwanted feedback at the touch of a single button.
The STAGEPAS 400BT features a 2-band EQ, while the 600BT adds a mid control for a 3-band EQ that especially benefits vocal and guitar performances. Switchable stereo/mono inputs are a flexible new feature that can turn each stereo channel into two independent mono channels if a setup requires more input capacity. STAGEPAS also offers switchable Hi-Z inputs that allow seamless connection of passive instruments, as well as phantom power, enabling direct connection of condenser mics. STAGEPAS also lets users switch the reverb on or off instantly with an optional footswitch, an ideal feature for MC events or solo performances.
In addition, both the 400BT and 600BT come equipped with monitor and subwoofer outputs, providing seamless expansion. For applications that call for a more powerful house setup, a monitor mix or more prominent low end, simply plug in powered speakers such as Yamaha's DBR, DXR and DSR series speakers or Yamaha's DXS series subwoofers. The new updated DXS15mkII and DXS12mkII models are a perfect compact, lightweight option for STAGEPAS users who need bass-heavy mixes for their live or playback performances.
“Since its launch in 2005, STAGEPAS has been a staple of live music performances, events and applications such as conferences, training for beginners in audio engineering, or musicians who prefer to set up their own sound,” said Yoshi Tsugawa, General Manager of the Yamaha Pro Audio Division. “With the addition of wireless audio playback via the new Bluetooth audio streaming feature, we hope the added flexibility and freedom will inspire more creative and successful use of our best STAGEPAS yet.”
