Its new Aero 20A self-powered compact line array system. The new system joins the third generation of Aero line arrays, which began with the introduction of the Aero 40A ALASTM Advanced Line Array System in 2014. Incorporating the ALASTM philosophy, the Aero 20A shares the huge success of the "go-anywhere" capabilities of the Aero 12A, launched in 2009. The new Aero 20A incorporates D.A.S.’s latest technical achievements in transducer design, power electronics and system management.
The Aero 20A incorporates a new D.A.S. 12" loudspeaker optimized for high power and reliability. A lightweight aluminum voice coil coupled to a new fiberglass-reinforced cone, an optimized magnetic circuit and a new suspension design contribute significantly to the 12AN4’s exceptional performance in terms of distortion, power handling and maximum SPL. The 12AN4’s new voice coil ventilation system is particularly effective at dissipating heat, giving the loudspeaker a wide thermal range and low power compression.
High-frequency response is handled by the M-75N compression driver and a new waveguide assembly developed for the Aero 20A. The compression driver features a neodymium magnet structure, a titanium diaphragm and a 3" (75 mm) voice coil. The M-75N is coupled to a new aluminum waveguide optimized to deliver exceptional overall performance.
Advanced electronics The Aero 20A features an advanced electronics package comprising a compact Class D amplifier that houses the power supply, output stage and connectors in a single lightweight chassis. The two-channel amplifier (800 W + 400 W) uses the latest switch-mode power supply technology and offers maximum performance, high predictability and immunity to distortion thanks to the innovative design of its pulse-width modulation controller.
Digital processing It incorporates the latest in digital signal processors. Brickwall filters have been used to achieve perfect alignment between ways and exceptional coverage uniformity, even at the crossover frequencies. The built-in top-of-the-line AD/DA converters add significant improvements in dynamics, lower distortion and ultra-low noise levels. Remote control and monitoring are available through the DASnetTM audio management system for self-powered enclosures and processors. Based on the RS-485 protocol, the DASnetTM system gives users an instant, intuitive overview of system status, as well as remote control over a range of parameters for up to 256 units.

Durability It is built from birch plywood and finished in ISO-Flex black paint, which offers excellent protection and durability. Two individual assemblies, comprising the high-frequency waveguide and a mounting for the 12" loudspeaker, are attached to the front of the enclosure. Mounted on the back is the aluminum heat sink that houses the amplifier and related electronic components.
Simple, secure rigging A new rigging system has been designed to make it easier to use, allowing angles to be selected while the units are stacked on the transport cart. The locking system can be engaged to secure the angles between cabinets during stacking or flying. Safe handling and precise adjustment are achieved thanks to the AX bracket and its low-profile flying bar, which reduces the space needed between the highest rigging point and the top of the array.
