Freedom of Control with the DDJ-SZ2 Controller

Dedicated controls for Serato DJ's new features. Pioneer DJ has updated its flagship controller for Serato DJ and created the DDJ-SZ2. You can use the new 4-channel controller to take advantage of the latest additions to Serato DJ, including Key Shift, Key Sync, Pitch Play and Serato Flip.

The velocity-sensitive multicolor pads give you instant feedback on modes and playback status, and thanks to improved jog wheel latency, scratching is smoother and more precise than ever. To help you get the most out of the controller, the DDJ-SZ2 comes with the latest version of Serato DJ. The Pitch 'n Time DJ and Serato Flip expansion packs are also included so you can use several new features, such as Pitch Play and Key Sync.

DDJ-SZ2 main features

The design faithfully mirrors the CDJ layout

Mix and scratch instinctively on the controller, with a look and feel similar to the professional CDJ + DJM series. • Big jogs: Scratch naturally with the Big Jogs borrowed from the CDJ-2000NXS2, and the On-Jog Display lighting gives you information on current playback status and position for more precise performances. Jog Feeling Adjust, also from the CDJ series, lets you customize the resistance and time of a backspin.

• Multicolor velocity-sensitive pads: Use the large multicolor touch pads to trigger tracks, samples and FX. Hit the pads harder to increase the volume of the samples and watch the pad colors change to indicate the selected mode and playback status. • DJM mixer section: Stay in control at all times thanks to the simple layout of the mixer section, which faithfully mirrors the DJM series design.

Dual USB ports for smooth DJ changeovers

The dual USB ports let you connect two computers at the same time and use the A/B switch on top for seamless DJ changeovers.

Dedicated controls for Serato DJ's new features

Key Shift, Key Sync and Pitch Play: Use the dedicated controls to activate the new Key Shift and Key Sync features in Serato DJ, which let you adjust the musical key of tracks and sync the key of tracks during mixes. Pitch Play lets you play Hot Cues across a different range of keys and assign them to the controller's pads.

Serato Flip: Create and save Hot Cue sequences to make custom edits of tracks, and use the dedicated Serato Flip controls to play them back at the touch of a single button. Get even more creative results by skipping or repeating sections of the track on the fly.

Professional features and FX for live performance

• Sound Color FX: Liven up your sets with the four most popular Sound Color FX from the DJM series: Echo, Jet, Pitch and Filter. You can sync the Echo to the BPM of the track that's playing.
• Oscillator: Add texture and tension to your tracks with the four oscillator sounds: Noise, Drop, Laser and Siren. Turn the oscillator parameter knob to create new tones.

Magvel crossfader

• The Magvel crossfader – taken from the well-known DJM-900NXS2 mixer – is the ultimate for mixing and scratching. Precise and smooth, it has an estimated lifespan of more than 10 million movements. It is resistant to liquids and dust.

High-quality sound

Hear tracks loud and clear, thanks to the audio circuitry inherited from Pioneer DJ's professional gear. Contact resistance is reduced at the AC input, and the high-performance D/A converter made by Cirrus Logic, Inc., together with a more precise oscillator, enables the DDJ-SZ2 to reproduce a clear, powerful sound that is as faithful as possible to the source. 7. • Aluminum top panel and jog wheels: A quality look and feel.
