New Yamaha Portable Powered Mixers for Its EMX SeriesThe EMX5 and EMX7 offer more power, features, portability and ease of use in a compact sound reinforcement solution for musicians, performers and presenters.

Designed to set up a reliable portable sound system together with speakers and microphones, the EMX7 and EMX5 join Yamaha's range of powered mixers, delivering optimal sound quality in a compact, portable system with all the tools needed to mix, process and amplify audio however and wherever you want.

The EMX5 and EMX7 mixers, which will be available at the end of this summer, feature high-efficiency power amplifiers, with an output per channel of 630 W and 710 W respectively, and overload protection. The enclosure is rugged, with an impact-resistant metal chassis and built-in handles for greater durability. Added to this is a versatile design that lets them easily adapt to horizontal or vertical setups, since the EMX7/5 can be mounted in a 19-inch rack using the RK-EMX7 rack mount kit.

Both models feature four mono input channels and four mono/stereo channels. In total, up to eight microphones and line-level input sources can be connected, while the fourth channel can be used with Hi-Z inputs. They also include two aux send connections for a monitoring system or for external effects devices; stereo TRS headphone jacks; speaker outputs that accept TS jacks or speakON connectors; and an unbalanced RCA pin record output.

The EMX5 features Yamaha's single-knob master EQ (Knob Master EQ) to apply optimized settings for speech, music and bass boost. The EMX7, for its part, integrates a flexible graphic equalizer (Flex9GEQ) that lets users select up to nine bands out of a total of 31 for precise ±15 dB adjustments.

Both models include Yamaha's patented single-knob compressor and a complete SPX effects DSP section, as well as a speaker processor with presets. Both also integrate a feedback suppressor that uses the brand's exclusive digital technology, with seven bands and a notch filter to eliminate annoying feedback at the push of a button. Both the EMX5 and EMX7 have a universal internal power supply so they can be used in any region of the world.
