10th ISP Música Musicians Contest Now OpenShow the world your talent! Entries are now open for bands and solo artists in the 10th edition of the ISP Música contest. We want to know what you do and we want to show it off. Read the rules, enter for free, show your music to everybody, and win the prize to help your talent.

In previous editions, we divided the contests by type of performer or instrument: guitarists, singers, drummers and so on. This time we want to widen the scope and give the chance to spread the music and know-how of any artist who has something to tell the public. Starting today, November 1, 2014, entries are open for this 10th edition for musicians, artists and solo performers. The winner will get, absolutely free, a recording of their music at a professional studio and, in case you can’t travel (because of distance or other reasons), you will have the studio available to master, mix or work on your music remotely too. In addition, we will promote the author or band through ISP Música Magazine to spread your work. Also, all duly registered musicians will take part in a drawing for various pieces of gear, so just by taking part, even if you don’t win, you can be in the running for one of the prizes.

We also want to tell you that the videos made for the contest count for much more. They don’t need to be slickly edited. This is the polar opposite of “those cheesy commercial contests.” ISP Música is about music and musicians. The ones from the street, the ones who have it in their blood. The opposite of commercial by nature. We want to see the artists. The truth, raw. The rehearsal room, your bedroom, the park or wherever you can... but the crowd live and “for real.” If you have a polished video of the band (or of yourself), GREAT, perfect as an introduction. But it would be cool if you thought about recording one (low-budget, nothing but talent needed) live and simple, so that we can see you throughout the course of the contest. A webcam or a phone is enough. OK? This evens out the submission of materials and lets us truly see what you do. Greetings to all.

Entry deadline. You can enter and send your material throughout November and December. During these two months, we will be showcasing all the participants through the website, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and ISP Música Magazine itself, in digital and print. At the end of December 2014, there will be a public vote, and finally the professional jury will help decide who the best are.

Who can take part?. Whatever you do, if you have a calling and talent, you can take part in this edition. We want to be flexible so that nobody stays hidden behind their computer with their music between four walls. We don’t care whether you’re a rock band, a singer-songwriter, a symphonic guitarist or three crazy Brit-pop fans. Rather than labeling the kind of music you make, which we don’t care about, we will value your message, your feel, your magic and, ultimately, your ability or your band’s.

How do I enter and take part? To enter, click here and fill in your details: stage name, number of members in the lineup, type of music or project you’re entering with, etc. Attach the song you want to enter with as a YouTube link and keep an eye on what’s cooking at ISP. You don’t need to worry about the quality of the video or the recording. We recommend you do the best you can so as to show both the image and vibe of your band, or of your proposal, as well as your music, originality and talent. The video (which you can record at home, on the street, in the rehearsal room or wherever you feel like) must contain original material, not covers.

Voting. At the end of the year, early in 2015, the public vote will be held on the ISP Música forum. Everybody will be free to vote for their favorites. The public vote accounts for 35% of the votes, complemented by the jury’s 65%. We will therefore see who and what people like most, and the jury will give us a proper explanation of why they choose the winners, as well as offering assessments of the best entries received.

Prizes. In January 2015 we will announce the winner and interview them in ISP Música, in addition to officially presenting the prizes. Among all the participants, we will raffle off a Shure® in-ear monitoring system and an LD Systems® Maui 11 Mix active PA system. The winning band will receive a voucher for 30 hours of professional studio time at TAF, Madrid, to record from scratch, mix, master or polish their best creations.

All of it thanks to the collaboration of companies, institutions and brands that support the talent of those of you who dedicate yourselves, professionally or as amateurs, to expressing emotions through your music. Show us what you do.
