Your idols, your guitar: plug into your favorite band
Introducing JamVOX, an integrated monitor and software system that extracts the guitar from any MP3 and puts you in the mix with your favorite bands.
JamVOX gives guitarists instant access to dozens of legendary amplifiers and effects, all in a simple "drag and drop" interface. The revolutionary Guitar XTracktion (GXT) technology lets you remove the guitar part from a song at the touch of a button. And best of all, you can replace it with your own sound. You can also isolate the guitar track and practice any style of music without changing the pitch.
JamVOX includes authentic software models, or recreations, of 19 legendary guitar amplifiers and 54 vintage and modern effects, with which you will be able to perfectly reproduce the sounds of your favorite guitarists. It also comes with a USB-connected full-range speaker, so there is no need for complex cabling or any specialized computer knowledge. JamVOX is the dream of any guitarist who wants to plug in and play along with their idols or favorite bands. JamVOX is the result of a collaboration between VOX Amplification engineers and KORG's virtual instrument modeling development team. A simple three-step operation lets anyone play guitar on their favorite band's song.
1. Connect the USB speaker to your computer and plug in your guitar: the JamVOX software will open automatically.
2. In the music player, select the song you want to play.
3. Dial in your favorite sound and play guitar while you listen to the song. Press the GXT button on the screen and start playing! You can press the record button to record your performance along with the song.

The JamVOX software offers 19 amp model types ranging from classics such as the VOX AC30 to boutique amps and modern high-gain amps. These amp models use Virtual Valve Reactor technology, which perfectly simulates every aspect of the original guitar amplifiers, right down to the response of the power amp circuit, the operating differences between Class A and Class B, the tube type and the negative feedback circuit. There are also 12 cabinet models to go with the amp models. They have even carefully modeled the construction of the original units' speaker cabinets.
An additional software effects processor is also included with JamVOX. A wide assortment of distortions, standard effects such as wah and compressor, and more unusual effects such as a ring modulator and an acoustic simulator: there are a total of 18 pedal-type effects. It also has 12 modulation effects such as chorus, flanger, tremolo, filter and rotary; 11 delay effects, including some that model analog circuitry such as tape echo, multi-head delays and BBD; and 12 reverb effects covering every type, for a total of 54 high-quality effects units, including noise reduction. By dragging and dropping, you can freely connect up to six effects in any order you like: two pedal-type effects, one modulation, one delay, one reverb and one noise reducer.
Of course there are also 100 guitar programs that include the sounds of famous songs and guitarists (straight out of the box).
The JamVOX music player is based on the new GXT technology developed by KORG, which makes it possible to extract or isolate a guitar part from an existing song (a capability that will change the way guitarists of all levels practice). This technology is not a conventional vocal canceler that mutes sounds through phase cancellation. That conventional method turns the audio into mono and makes it impossible to extract the desired sound. GXT technology uses a completely different method, in which the sound is analyzed by its position in the stereo field and its frequency band; an adjustable filter is used to create the cancellation effect. This means the song keeps its stereo image and the desired sound can also be extracted. This way, you can stand in for the guitarist in your favorite band and play the guitar part yourself. You can also record your performance along with the original song simply by pressing the record button.
The music player provides many other functions. You can loop the song, use the tempo change function to slow down playback speed without affecting pitch, and you can even use these functions while using GXT to extract the guitar part, making it much easier to learn fast phrases by ear or to practice difficult passages. The pitch change function lets you change the pitch without affecting the song's tempo, so you can correct slight pitch differences between your guitar and the song, or play along with songs that use altered tunings. The music player also contains 100 drum patterns that are ideal for practicing or creating riffs.
