Pioneer DJ Introduces HDJ-S7 Headphones for Professional DJs

Following the launch of the professional over-ear HDJ-X10, HDJ-X7 and HDJ-X5 headphone models in fall 2017, Pioneer DJ is now launching the HDJ-S7 on-ear headphones for professional DJs. The new model offers powerful audio quality, greater durability and improved functionality for more comfortable use.

Available in white or black, the HDJ-S7 are the world's first on-ear DJ headphones to feature 40 mm HD (high-definition) drivers. This ensures the sound separation needed for good cueing while mixing, from rich, powerful bass to clear mid-high frequencies. Designed and built to be rugged, they have passed the MIL-STD-810G anti-shock test, a U.S. military standard, as well as the manufacturer's own rigorous in-house durability tests.

The new model features a swivel mechanism, a flexible headband and a smaller ear cup (on-ear design), according to the preferences of different DJs, so the HDJ-S7 can be used more comfortably whatever your way of working. * The HDJ-S7 will be available from mid-May 2018 with a suggested retail price of €199 including VAT. Let's look at their main features.

Sound quality

High audio quality. The HDJ-S7 headphones are equipped with our newly developed 40 mm HD drivers, making them the first DJ headphones to reproduce high-resolution sound from 5 Hz to 40 kHz, the same frequency range achieved by the famous HDJ-X10 over-ear headphones. This ensures clear sound separation, from intense, strong bass to crystal-clear mid and high frequencies. As a result, the HDJ-S7 headphones give you the immersive sound needed for interference-free cueing in noisy clubs.

4-core braided cable. The ground wire is independent within the 4-core braided cable and provides superior separation of the left and right channels, improving sound quality.

Bass reflex chamber. The bass reflex chamber in the upper housing ensures excellent bass response and greater sound isolation.

Greater durability

Rigorously tested. Take the HDJ-S7 headphones on tour and rest assured that they will withstand harsh conditions and heavy use. The HDJ-S7 have passed the MIL-STD-810G anti-shock test, a U.S. military standard, as well as our own demanding stress tests.

Highly durable materials. To make the HDJ-S7 headphones highly durable and lightweight at the same time, we have used metal components in certain parts, and they have been tested in high-stress environments, creating a solid construction for professional use.

Improved functionality

Swivel mechanism for any cueing style. When developing any new product, we create numerous prototypes, each with improvements based on feedback from highly respected international DJs who test the gear. Using this feedback and the results of our analysis of many different cueing styles, we have made sure the HDJ-S7 headphones are comfortable whatever your way of working, especially when hung around the neck with a swivel angle fixed at 45 degrees forward. In addition, the outside of the housing is textured for a better grip, so you can grab them and start listening quickly.

Flexible, comfortable headband. To help you find the perfect fit, the HDJ-S7 headphones feature a flexible, durable headband. It has passed rigorous tests, including being opened and closed 20,000 times.

Comfortable ear pads. The improvements made to the ear pads (compared with those of the HDJ-C70 headphones) let you DJ comfortably for much longer. We carefully selected high-quality urethane material because it is soft to the touch and provides comfortable cushioning, and we even paid attention to the placement of the seams to ensure you don't notice them.

Other features

Replacement parts. Easily replace a damaged cable or worn ear pads on your HDJ-S7 (sold separately).

Excellent portability. When you travel for work (festivals, events…), you can be sure your HDJ-S7 headphones will be well protected in the included carrying case. Made of tough materials to protect your headphones from knocks, whether on flights or in transit, the case has pockets for storing accessories such as USB devices and SD cards.

Included accessories. The HDJ-S7 headphones come with two detachable cables: a 1.2 m coiled cable (approximately 3.0 m when extended) and a 1.6 m straight cable. An L-type mini plug prevents the connector from breaking or accidentally disconnecting during use, even in tight DJ booths.

2-year warranty. To ensure reliable long-term performance, a 2-year warranty is included.
